Darryl feels left out after Milsap hits it off with Dave. To
make matters worse, Yvonne is preoccupied with Sally's baby showers.

Michael is a good student who also likes to clown around at
school, but Darryl tells him to stop acting the fool "in front of white
folk."

The Hughleys decide to renew their wedding vows, which
brings Yvonne's parents to town. The episode includes flashbacks of the

There's trouble in the house after Yvonne, who's offered a

The Hughleys clash over the best way to keep the family safe

his mind is made up when a bullet shatters their living room window.

Darryl's self-proclaimed gift for advising the lovelorn
strikes a chord with Milsap, who embarks on some major life changes to impress
his girlfriend.

paternity, Darryl takes a trip to meet his real father. Meanwhile, Sydney is

Season 3
#46 Survivin' (Sept 11, 2000)
Yvonne persuades Darryl to hire a contractor to remodel the
kitchen, but the man they select is also working on the Rogers' home. As a
result, Dave and Sally are less than pleased, as the work on their home halts
while the contractor busies himself at the Hughleys'. Darryl, too, is unhappy,
as the contractor's plans expand to include the entire house - and, possibly,
Yvonne.
#47 Guess Who's Coming Out for Dinner? (Sept 18, 2000)
Darryl tries to avoid being fined by the overzealous head of
the homeowner's association, while dealing with sudden uncertainty about the
sexual orientation of his son, Michael.
#48 We Got It Maid (Sept 25, 2000)
When Yvonne begins substitute teaching, Darryl at first
finds himself doing the household chores - and then paying for a maid. Also,
his plans to make his mom's retirement party when Milsap can't find suitable
entertainment.
#49 In the Bluff (Oct 2, 2000)
Darryl decides to launch a Hughley Vending Web site, which
features scantily clad women - and surprises Yvonne. Then, when she visits the
business during a casting call, she becomes jealous of the pretty young women
and, in an effort to get him to stop, informs Darryl that she wants to pose.
But Darryl, believing that she really does want to pose, is afraid to say no.
#50 The Truth Shall Set Me Free (Oct 9, 2000)
After one screwup too many, Darryl fires Jimmy. As a result,
he finds himself sued for reverse racism by Jimmy, who is represented by none
other than Johnnie Cochran.
#51 Scary Hughley (Oct 30, 2000)
When Darryl and Dave both throw Halloween shindigs, Darryl makes
a competition of it and buys "the works" from a local party store.
Things turn wicked, however, when a dead TV pitchman who once lived in the
Hughleys' home, haunts the premises. To make things even stranger, Yvonne
becomes possessed by the pitchman's spirit.
#52 Rage Against the Machine (Nov 6, 2000)
Darryl and Yvonne agree to let their home be a polling place
for the Presidential election. When Darryl's father learns that his son doesn't
vote, however, he expresses his disgust. But Darryl's nonparticipation takes a
U-turn when he learns that there's a measure to ban leafblowers on the ballot,
as Dave's been making a racket with his - not to mention blowing leaves onto
Darryl's property.
#53 Darryl's Victory Tour (Nov 13, 2000)
A visit from an old friend sends Darryl down memory lane, as
he recalls meeting Yvonne for the first time. But the nostalgic trip proves
bumpy when he learns that Yvonne's recollection doesn't match his.
#54 Oh Thank Heaven for Seven-Eleven (Nov 20, 2000)
On Thanksgiving, a fight between Darryl and a store clerk
results in Darryl, his family, in-laws, Dave and Sally being stuck inside a
mini-mart surrounded by the LAPD.
#55 His Park Is Worse than His Bite (Nov 27, 2000)
Yvonne, Dave and Sally persuade Darryl and Mr. Park to put
an end to their feud by signing a truce, but the men have other ideas.
#56 Love or Money (Dec 11, 2000)
Despite Yvonne's misgivings about helping friends and
relatives, Darryl agrees to help his aunt with her failing hair salon, and
develops a bold plan for a grand reopening.
#57 It Had to Be Jew (Jan 15, 2001)
Darryl's belief that blacks and Jews do not get along is
tested when he and his Jewish neighbor take part in a fund-raising event for
the local community center.
#58 Bamboozled (Feb 5, 2001)
Much to Darryl's delight, Dave's embarrassed by his visiting
hillbilly cousin DuWayne (D.L. Hughley in a dual role). Upon learning that
DuWayne is an expert bowler, Darryl enlists him in Hughley Vending's bowling
team for a big match against Dave's crew. But the fun stops short when Darryl
discovers a side of DuWayne that is far from amusing.
#59 My Horny Valentine (Feb 12, 2001)
Worried that their relationship is based just on sex, Yvonne
decides she and Darryl should abstain for the week before Valentine's Day. The
delayed gratification takes its toll, however, as both experience the
"five stages" of denial. Meanwhile, Dave and Sally enjoy a resurgence
in their bedroom activities; and Milsap agrees to care for the kids on
Valentine's Day night.
#60 Forty Acres and a Fool (Feb 19, 2001)
Darryl's biological father, Jerry Rose, reenters his life,
asking to meet with Darryl's mother and angering Darryl in the process. The
visit also causes a rift between Darryl and Yvonne, but things go from bad to worse
when Darryl spots Rose and his mother entering Rose's hotel room.
#61 It's a Wonderful Wife (Feb 26, 2001)
Darryl discovers what life would be like if he'd married a
white woman after he accidentally switches Yvonne's anniversary gift with a
present for Hattie Mae. The mix-up brings bitter words between Darryl and
Yvonne, which leads him to fantasize what would have happened if he'd followed
a different path in life. But his imagination is thrown for a loop when he
wakes up to discover his fantasy has come true.
#62 South Side Story (Mar 5, 2001)
After he begins hanging out in Darryl's old neighborhood,
Michael adopts the "street" fashion, complete with knit cap and
earring. The change does not sit well with Yvonne, but Darryl is fine with it -
until he runs into an old friend who vows to tell Michael about Darryl's past.
#63 Something About Shari (Mar 12, 2001)
Yvonne's sister Shari is engaged, and Darryl's throwing the
wedding. That is, if he can keep from scuttling the wedding plans.
#64 Darryl, Family Counselor (Mar 19, 2001)
Dave has a run-in with his visiting mother-in-law, Edna,
leading him to move in with Darryl and Yvonne. Fed up with his messiness,
however, Darryl takes it upon himself to reingratiate Dave with Sally and Edna.
#65 Road Rage (Apr 30, 2001)
After they receive traffic citations, Darryl, Dave and
Milsap attend driving school, where Darryl runs into radio talk-show host Larry
Elder, whose conservative opinions irritate him. Meanwhile, Milsap tries to get
into the eccentric teacher's good graces. Elder appears as himself.
#66 Mother's Day (May 7, 2001)
Yvonne's "quiet" Mother's Day is foiled when her
mom and Darryl's mother arrive for the day, along with Milsap and his mom.
Things go from bad to worse when Yvonne passes out.
#67 Titanic 2 (May 14, 2001)
Electric Boogaloo In the third-season finale, Darryl and
family, Milsap, and Dave and Sally take a cruise, during which...Yvonne turns
gambling addict; Darryl's banned from the on-board casino; and Dave and Sally
fight - and make up. Also, the kids dress up as adults to try to get served
alcohol; and the entire group ends up adrift in a lifeboat.
Season 4
#68 Joint Custody (Sept 3, 2001)
The family sitcom kicks off its second season on UPN (and
fourth overall) with an episode that deftly mixes comedy with an important look
at drugs and parenting. Darryl is having a bad day Yvonne's freeloading sister
Shari is moving into an apartment in their neighborhood. Then Shari comes over
to his place and tries to steal a jacket that belongs to Sydney. Darryl
struggles with her over it and a joint falls out of a pocket. That throws
Darryl and Yvonne for a loop, but they're even more shocked when Sydney reveals
to whom the jacket really belongs.
#69 Mid-Wife Crisis (Sept 10, 2001)
Yvonne expresses interest in getting a job outside the home,
but Darryl doesn't think she has any marketable skills. Also, Darryl woos a
possible new business partner with a homemade dinner; and Yvonne becomes the
neighborhood's "hot mom."
#70 A Cry for Pleh (Sept 17, 2001)
After Michael is
diagnosed with dyslexia, Darryl and Yvonne hire a tutor to help him with his
studies. Darryl, however, is quickly taken aback by the woman because she makes
him feel dumb.
#71 (Sept 24, 2001)
Yvonne goes on a business trip and Darryl seems to have
everything under control . . . until Sydney gets her first period . . .
#72 Stormy Weather (Oct 1, 2001)
Yvonne worries that the romance has dimmed between her and
Darryl. To prove to her that it hasn't, Darryl arranges a night on the town
that she won't soon forget.
#73 Hughley & Son (Oct 8, 2001)
When Darryl and
Yvonne learn that Michael is skipping school, Darryl puts his son to work at
Hughley Vending. Also, Milsap dislikes the nickname Coral has given him.
#74 When Darryl Bumped Sally (Oct 15, 2001)
Darryl and Sally
co-host a local TV-advice show, but when viewers respond to his brash manner
rather than her subdued style, she quits.
#75 Whatchoo Stalkin' About, Willis? (Oct 29, 2001)
The sitcom delivers
an inventive script that revolves around a rehearsal for a Halloween
episode. The story kicks
into gear when D.L. Hughley is too busy playing video games to show up for his
entrance as Darryl during a run-through, leaving the rest of the cast, dressed
in Halloween costumes, waiting for him on the set. After Hughley finally
arrives, the studio loses power and the actors find themselves trapped behind
locked doors. The dilemma convinces them that the studio is cursed...especially
since Diff'rent Strokes, whose stars went on to battle personal woes, was
filmed there. Then, one by one, cast members start to disappear.
#76 Daddy’s Lil’ Girl (Nov 5, 2001)
Sydney wins a radio
contest for a date with superstar rapper Lil' Romeo. While Yvonne isn't sure
that she should be allowed to go, Darryl gives his okay. Meanwhile, Dave and
Milsap try to turn Michael into the next “Lil” superstar.
