As you can see from the sketch above, using the grid worked. It almost looks like her, though I think there's some Cameron Diaz in there somehow, too. Everything also more or less lines up to where it should be, which saved me great amounts of frustration and erasing. But as you can see, my pencils aren't able to give a fully black area because the paper in my sketchbook is somewhat rough. So I decided I'd try digital inking.

There was one problem: I don't have a Wacom tablet, the staple for any digital artist. So I had to use my mouse, which as you can imagine (or remember if you've ever tried drawing with your mouse) is quite difficult. Thank god for Ctrl-Z is all I have to say.



While I am satisfied with the results (for the time being), I am somewhat disappointed as well. The biggest thing I was hoping to accomplish was to properly capture her expression, which I was almost able to do. There's just something not quite right about it, though, and I'm pretty sure it's in the lips, something I always have trouble with.

Nevertheless, there you have the most technically beautiful woman in the world, c/o Jeremy. 1
