In many conservative countries, the consumption and possession of pornography is against the law. Here's a G-rated version of the women's magazine, Playgirl. In the midst of looking at this pictures, perhaps it is also appropriate to consider what is considered pornographic. A coloured print of a nude man wanking or a smiling blonde showing her privates is considered pornographic, yet documentaries of scantily-clad tribal men and women are not.
Pornography is defined as " the treatment of sexual objects in pictures or writing in a way that is meant to cause sexual excitement".
" The object of pornography is hallucination. The reader is meant to identify either with the narrator or with the general situation to a sufficient extent to produce at least the physical concomitants of sexual excitement; if the work is successful, it should produce orgasm. The reader should have the emotional and physical sensations, at least in a diminished form, that he would have were he taking part in the activities described...... There would appear to be 2 main motives for reading the literature of hallucination: as a substitute for experience, or to satisfy an insatiable craving."
