January 15, 2007: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
“I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

~MLK, Jr. from the March on Washington Speech (I Have a Dream)

Had he lived Martin Luther King, Jr. would have been 78 years old today. Have we lived up to his dream? Are we working hard to hew "a stone of hope" from "a mountain of dispair"? I invite you all to reflect today on where the dream stands. How are we doing as a nation? A state? A city? A neighborhood? A school? As individuals? What is the content of your character today?

Read the full "I Have a Dream" speech here. You can also listen to the speech and see video from that day at this site. It is still moving and relevant today.
