| Rules Basic RP rules apply -no power playing. this means that you cannot tell another character what happens to them for example if two characters are fighting Boomer's player cannot write "Boomer knocks Stormy over causing him to tumble off the cliff face and break his leg on the rocks below" small things like landing a blow is ok and most players will be fair about taking damage. If players are concerned about powerplaying in a fight, or the like, they should report it to a moderator or the admin. If powerplay is judged to have taken place then the ofending character will lose the fight be default. furthermore any of their mares that are present can be collected by the winner. -mild cursing allowed. damn and such are ok.you hear them in PG movies. anyone uncomfortable with these slight slips is free to leave. If you still want to play but havea real problem with it open things up for discussion on the OOC board. -no inapropriate subject matter. (pornography, cybering, extreme language etc.) -no flaming, under any circumstances This includes OOC fighting between players. If you have a problem with each other you can fix it through constructive and polite posts on the ooc board like mature individuals or take it to private emails. This is an open and accepting community, even if some feel "that stuff is for hippies" -no advertising its not too bad but it distrupts game play.if you want I may be able to trade links. email me. -Your character can speak openly but please, no rose giving and such. act horsie! horses dont kiss but a nuzzle shows great affection! -no forced breeding or long breeding. in real life a mare that doesn't want to breed can seriously injure a stallion.unless somebody is there twitching and hobbling her she's not about to be forced into breeding. Long breeding (or detailed breeding) is not really too bad but it makes many people uncomforatble and I want this to be a good place for lots of people. Besides, breeding is no huge event for a horse, its over in seconds! Mounting activity is a good place to leave it at. Please keep in mind also that horses do not breed for pleasure like people, and a few other mammals. They breed solely to procreate. Some mares will feel driven to breed to any stallion during their heat, others to those they like, or their herd leader. know your character ad keep it real. If this rule is broken then the breeding will be cancelled and the player/character will be warned. if they continue this activity then they could face being banned. -please refrain from OVER embellishing your writing. a thousand misused thesauruses will not make up for poor writing skills, using a replacement or metaphor for every single word is just annoying and time comsuming to read! some people call it expert role playing but theres nothing truly expert about it. Use basic english class disgression and have some fun! I'm sorry but this is just one of my major pet peeves! LOL! ex. femme,nares,ocs,pistons....if you dont understand what this is about dont worry about it;you aren't the one causing the problem! -Limit of 10 charcters joining. in the past there has been an unlimited number of characters, but that led to people joining characters they are not commited to, and some just to breed or fight, then be killed off within the week. join less characters and put more effort into them! Those who joined before this new rule are free to continue playing any characters that exceed this limit, but once you hit ten there's not joining more! You can still breed to add to your collection of characters, and if qulaity proves worthy I may up the limit number in time. -Do not join and play as an entire herd this is complicated so please4 allow me to explain the idea behind this... No herd is permanent. Horses join, horses leave, new foals are born and go on to lead their own herds. You can play every charcter in a herd, but they should all be played separately so that each can lead it's own life. To clump them all together into one post makes it confusing for other readers and does not allow any 'wiggle room' for circumstances beyond them! You may join characters that belong to the same band, are related, or know each other; but join and play each horse as an individual within that group. You'll find there's more character development that can happen when you give each the attention they deserve! (plus you don't end up talking to yourself the whole time) Game Play this is how things work for now but they may change as the game expands The Herd System: -Stallions can run a herd along with a lead mare of their choice. They have no territory but at the end of the month I will post a roll call on the OOC board. The stally must fill out a list of his herd members so that I can update the characters page. If he fails to do so he will lose his herd and will have to reclaim them for the next month or they can then find a new hed with a more compitent stally. (if you are going to be away post on the ooc board and the roll call wont count while you are away) ex. Boomer's Herd Mica (lead mare) Cuactus Flower (mare) Sparklet (filly) stormy (colt) If stormy left and formed his own herd I would know at the next roll call and the change would show up on the character board! YAY! -Lone horses are okay but they have to respond to the "lone roll call" when the admin calls it at the end of the month. -Mares can accept the offer of a stallion to join his herd upon their own joining of the game, and are free to switch herds at will. -Stallions can try to steal a mare, too. Play it up! Stallys can try to keep mares from leaving their herd or defend her from another stally. careful of those mares too! they might decide they dont want to be stolen and deliver a swift kick to a lovestruck bachelor! The success of a character depends on how well they are played! just make sure the other player knows what you are doing when you try to steal, a mare or leave a herd. If a herd leader isn't aware that his mare was stolen than it will really mess up role call! -A stallion might claim a mare outright, and she may agree to go with him... but she doesn't have to. The direct approach is just one way a stallion will try to impress a mare with his dominance and command over others, but some don't fall for it for a minute. example 1: Boomer approaches Goldenseal, a meek and obediant mare, and tells her she is now part of his herd. She obeys him and accepts a position in his band without question, and goes on to have several foals by him ,until one day when she is not under a close eye a young stallion approaches and herds her away. She does not put up a fight so she is easily won, and easily lost. Mares like Goldenseal will change herd many times during their lives if their stallions are not vigilant enough. example 2: Boomer approaches Rock Rose, a firey and indepandant mare, and tells her she is now part of his herd. She size him up and decides he isn't quite the stallion she wants to sire her future foals. She turns right around and lashes out with a kick to the chest then canters off to join up with her choice of the more acomplished stallions in the area. Her new stallion, Snake Tail, is not paying enough attentionone day and a strange stallion tries to herd her away. She takes offence to his unpermissed approach and begins to kick and squeal until the entire herd is well aware of what is going on. Mares like Rock rose are hard won, but are less likely to be lost to roving strangers, and make good sentries for the busy herd stallion. -Foals follow their mother until weening age (1 month out-of-game time or one in-game season) after that they may become seperated from their mother if either is stolen from a herd or any other like incident...they may not survive if they are seperated before weaning age. -Breeding: details are on the breeding and foaling board, please read them. Breeding can occur from spring to early autumn. during late autumn and winter the mares are not in heat and cannot be bred anyways. Pregnancy too eraly or late in the year can be hazardous to both mare and fetus. Breed with caution, and remember, somebody has to take responsability for the new character that results. -Mares will only foal once a year, although the waiting period on this game is only 11 days, in real life the gestation period is 11 months,. Not only does this rule make sense in keeping with reality, but it also keeps the population in check to some degree and cuts down on unwanted characters once those foals begin to lose their cuteness : P -If you are caught trying for more than one foal a year then the breeding will be cancelled. This does not count for mares that have lost a fetus or young foal, but if they have lost one foal they may still be at risk of losing another. the joining code is " Mushy Mud " just cuz I need to think of a random word this update. the rest of the how to's such as joining and breeding will be on their pages! Have Fun! back to Inexistence on to the joining board need help? email me at [email protected] |
