| A Fireing Platoon of SPLLs (Self Propelled Loader Launcher) on a fireing point. This was done for demonstration - we do not usually launch rockets like this, infact launchers usually don't see other launchers fire. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Night Fire ... must I say more? | |||||||||||||||||||||
| This is a photo of a M270A1 from my battalion at a live fire. This launcher belongs to A BTRY 1-38 FA, back when my Battalion was a single battery. Now we have 3 line batteries and a radar battery. This SPLL is fireing a "Ripper-round" ... also known as a telephone poll, and officially known as a "M26 RR" - which is a training rocket. Its a telephone poll with a rocket booster. When this photo was taken, the rocket was already traveling at Mach 3. - The crew has not even heard the rocket yet. |
