Ap�s o su�cidio do vocalista dos Nirvana, Kurt Cobain, o baterista Dave Grohl decidiu recome�ar uma nova etapa na sua vida e, ent�o, deu seguimento a um projecto seu chamado Foo Fighters. Sobre a sua experi�ncia nos Nirvana, Dave Grohl disse: "It was the greatest job in the world. I was in this band that was selling millions of records, but I could go to a show and no-one would really recognise me. I never got hassled but I had all the perks of being in a huge band. It was unfortunate that Kurt had to go through the opposite of what I did. I think for someone like Kurt, whom millions of tortured kids related to, it was difficult for him to live his own life. And going through that whole experience, seeing what he was going through, and being entirely on the opposite end of that spectrum, living in complete anonymity, fortunately I got to stand back and spot the pitfalls...I felt for him, and for anyone else in that situation. It's almost been 10 years since 'Nevermind' came out, so it's been 10 years of playing shows and being on MTV, and making videos and being recognised. Since it's been gradual, I don't really have a problem with it." Neste momento os Foo Fighters est�o a trabalhar num sucessor de 'There's Nothing Left to Lose' e algumas faixas t�m nomes como: 'Tom Petty', 'Knucklehead', 'Spooky Tune', 'Full Mount', 'Lonely Is You' e 'Tears for Beers'. Sobre este sucessor, Dave Grohl disse: "We've been on a roll. We're trying to figure out when and where, but it's just coming so quickly that we're all really satisfied. All of the songs on the last album were written on acoustic guitars, even 'Breakout' and 'Steaked Actors'. A lot of this stuff that we've been writing now has been written with everything on 11!"

Os Foo Fighters surgiram a 04.07.1995 com o seu primeiro album hom�nimo. Com este album, as cr�ticas falavam ainda de um Dave Grohl com muitas influ�ncias dos Nirvana. Deois anos depois, a 20.05.1997 surgiu o 2� CD dos Foo Fighters intitulado 'The Color and The Shape' - para mim � o melhor dos 3. O �ltimo album deles, 'There's Nothing Left to Lose', foi editado a 02.11.1999 e foi aclamado pela cr�tica como o melhor album dos Foo Fighters e com um som mais pessoal. Agora Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel e Chris Shifflet est�o a trabalhar no pr�ximo lbum que deve sair no final deste ano ainda.
