Introduction

The more I watch WWE programming, the more I realize there's very little that's new or original in wrestling these days. By the same token, when I look at efeds I see that there's very little that's new or original. I've been efedding for 2 years now, and a wrestling fan for much longer than that. I love wrestling. I grew up watching it. And I love efeds. They're a fun way for me to enjoy my favorite hobby while meeting new and interesting people. I've tried my hand (with modest success) at running efeds in the past, but in the end I always found myself viewing them as a chore, rather than fun. Oh they're fun a first, but over time they become more and more of a grind. And after much thought, I think I know what the problem is: people take them too seriously. Sure, nobody likes to lose, but the nature of any game is that you win some and you lose some. I found that out when I joined a new fed a few months ago. Up until that point, I fancied myself to be an expert efedder; as good as any and better than most. But when I joined a fed filled with more experienced roleplayers, I realized that I wasn't as invincible as I once thought. At first the losses bothered me, even angered me. But I soon realized that I could still have fun, even if I weren't the most dominant player in the game. And the less seriously I took winning and losing, the more fun I had. That's what I hope IWC will be all about: fun. Like I said earlier, there's really nothing new in efeds, so I'm not even going to lie and say that IWC will be an innovative efed. Quite honestly, what I've done is take some of the best elements I've seen in other feds and combined them here with the goal of making IWC a realistic but fun environment for efed fans like me. After all, if it's not fun, what good is a hobby anyway?

Applications

In efforts to make IWC more efficient and user friendly, I've simplified the bulk of our website into the forums. That's why you didn' see links for the staff, roster, or applications. They're all in the forums. If you've looked around the site and decided IWC is for you, then just go to the forums and fill out an application. Don't worry, you don't have to be registered to fill out an app. Just be sure to fill it out completely, and I'll look it over. If you fit the mold of an IWC Superstar, then you'll receive your notice via email ASAP. That's all there is to it.

Rules

There are a few simple rules to remember here in ICW. Follow them and we'll all get along fine. Ignore them, and suffer the consequences. First offenses merit a warning. Second offenses merit a suspension. Repeat violators will be terminated. It's just that simple.

1.IWC accepts original characters only. No real wrestlers, athletes, singers, celebrities, etc. That goes for managers as well as wrestlers. There are plenty of efeds on the net where you can roleplay as the Undertaker, Triple H or Stone Cold Steve Austin, but this isn't one of them. And no ripoff names like "Stone Cold" Stan Austin either. Be original! Your character's can be loosely based on real wrestlers, but nothing blatant.

2. IWC management and staff strive to maintain a realistic atmosphere within the fed. Characters of a highly supernatural nature aren't necessarily a good fit for IWC. (i.e. no vampires, zombies, demons, etc.) Our emphasis is on wrestling, and we expect as much from our roleplayers and roleplays. Please, no epic encounters with supernatural beings, soldier of fortune stories, or Shakesperean soliloquies. This is a WRESTLING efed. There are plenty of other roleplaying games out there for those type roleplays. But if you want to be successful in IWC, you'll need to stick to wrestling. Also, we ask that you keep your characters realistic in a physical sense of what they can do. (i.e. no 7' 300+ pounders doing moonsaults or cruiserweights performing feats of improbable strength) AGAIN we're trying to maintain a realistic atmosphere, so keep that in mind when applying.

3.There is a 3 roleplay maximum for each show. You may roleplay as many times as you wish, but only the first 3 will count towards results. IWC management and staff have lives too, and we can't sit around and read 40-50 roleplays per week. So be sure that your first 3 roleplays each week are your top work. There are NO exceptions to this rule, so don't even ask.

4.Unlike most efeds, the IWC does not prohibit its members from using other characters in their roleplays. (i.e. You CAN attack other wrestlers in your roleplays.) We allow this in order to maintain a sense of realism in our efed, since wrestlers do attack one another in the real world. However, keep in mind that you are not permitted to inflict any career threatening injury unless you have the consent of the other character's handler. You are not allowed to kill another character, nor are you allowed to defame another character. (i.e. You cannot make another character proclaim he's homosexual, racist, etc.) Any complaints by handlers will be thoroughly investigated, and if it is determined that you have defamed another character in your roleplay you will be suspended. Repeat violators will be terminated. The idea here is to have fun and give each handler a sense of ownership when it comes to establishing angles. This is a privilege that most efeds won't give you, so do not abuse it. Keep it realistic, and remember: if you're going to take liberties with someone else's characters you'd better be prepared for someone to do the same with yours! Also, if you do use someone's character, you must make every effort to portray him/her as close to the handler's original interpretation of that character. Don't make them suddenly stupid or cowardly just to build up your own character. If too many handlers complain about their characters being misused, this privilege will be revoked.

5. Handlers are restricted to only one character or one tag team. This is simply so that you can concentrate your efforts in one area rather than spreading yourself too thin. Take it from a roleplayer who's been there: if you try too many characters, your quality will suffer. If you want to be part of a stable, then contact other members and set something up.

6. All roleplayers are expected to remain active if they wish to keep their roster slot. I understand that there are times when shcool, work, family and emergecny situations may necessitate your absence, and that's permissable. Simply email the owner or leave an OOC message stating that you'll need some time off, and we'll make sure not to book your character until you're able to return. Any excessive unexcused absences will result in suspension and/or termination. If you're booked for a match and you're able to roleplay, we expect you to roleplay. Even if your opponent doesn't roleplay or if you're booked in a match you might not necessarily want to be in. Sportsmanship is a big part of having fun, and the IWC management and staff will monitor sportmanship very closely. Anyone who displays poor sportsmanship in this fed will only hurt themselves, as they will most likely not be given any significant push by the IWC management and staff. You get what you earn around here, and that works both ways.

7.Any racist or otherwise bigoted remarks will not be tolerated. No exceptions.

8. All roleplays should be at least 25 lines long. Really, it doesn't take too long to sit down and type out 2-3 well written roleplays per week. Put some effort into your work if you want to be rewarded. 95% of reults will be based on strenght of roleplays. And don't confuse a lot of HTML with qualtiy roleplay skills. HTML is nice, and makes roleplays look better, but it's the story that's most important, not the artwork.

9. Roleplay deadline each week will be Friday morning at 12:01 AM EST unless otherwise noted. No exceptions.

10. IWC will only maintain a roster of 20 members at any given time. We're a small fed, and we're proud of it. Our emphasis will be quality over quantity, and we'll adhere to that in all that we do. Any prosepctive members who wish to join after the limit of 20 has been met may challenge one member of their choice for a roster slot. The winner of the match will be an IWC member. The loser won't. Hopefully this will help us maintain the best quality of roleplayers possible in IWC. And any former member who has lost his spot is more than welcome to challenge a rematch. After all, fair is fair.

11. The IWC management and staff maintain the right to deny membership to anyone at any time.

12. The ownership of the IWC strictly prohibits any public defamation of its management and/or staff. If you have any issues with myself or any other staff member, contact us personally and we will do our best to resolve it. As owner of this fed, I personally promise every member that I will do everything in my power to solve any problem you have, within reason. If you come to me with a legitimate complaint, I will investigate it thoroughly, and will strive for the quickest and fairest solution possible. That includes any problems you may have with me, also. Or in that case, if you feel more comfortable speaking with another staff member, then please do so. My ultimate goal is that all our members are satisfied with the fed as a whole, as well as their personal station within it. But I will not tolerate any inflammatory remarks against this fed, its management, or its staff on any of our forums. We will not be one of those feds that airs its dirty laundry for all the world to see. Quite frankly, that only serves to make the fed as a whole look bad in the eyes of the public, and that is counter-productive as far as attracting new members is concerned. And I promise you that as swiftly as I may act when someone brings me a complaint the right way, I will act even more swiftly in the event that someone conducts their business the wrong way. This rule also includes posting derogatory remarks about other members. Everyone has the right to be treated equally, and with the utmost respect. Anyone who does not agree with that simply doesnt belong in the IWC. And anyone who cannot abide by this rule will not belong in the IWC.

These rules are by no means all comprehensive. Rather, they are an outline of what the IWC management and staff expect from its members. If you think you can abide by these rules, then you are more than welcome to apply. Most importantly, we want the members of IWC to have fun. After all, that's what the game is all about.
