Dillon was perhaps the most interesting character in Galactica 1980. He was obviously patterned on Starbuck from the original series right down to his sharp looks and long "fashionable" blond hair. He was played by Barry Van Dyke son of legendary comedian and performer Dick Van Dyke.
Dillon was far less subdued than Troy and was not connected to the original series in any way. He was also the only real character to have and to be a love interest (see Space Croppers). He was quite a pilot and a good shot. He never missed. Along with Troy and Jamie he was the principal character.
