Described in the past as bleakly beautiful and a work of an unrecognised genius, The Holy Bible, the Manics third album release, is not without its gushing supporters.

Songs such as
4st 7lb and she is suffering seem to demonstrate, without question, Richeys lyrical gift and this is yesterday redeems Nicky from any criticism he has encounter prior to the release of this album, or after.

The albums dark undertones cannot be ignored; Richeys deteriorating mental state undoubtedly having a profound effect on the main themes of the album.
Archives of pain examines the best fate for serial killers, concluding in chilling and uncompromising fashion the centre of humanity is cruelty/there is never redemption.  4st 7lb, now famous amongst even the most fleeting of Manics fans, describes the gradual progression of anorexia and the consuming love it demands from the sufferer.  Becoming skeletal has never sounded more appealing; I want to walk in the snow/and not leave a footprint

The striking and energetic
faster cannot be ignored (not least of all, because it is the song from which this site borrows its title!).  Its dynamic and musically inspiring as well as being lyrically interesting. It should be the song you can play to your friend and say; see, you did know what they sounded like back then.

Yes is definitely the grower of the bunch, originally I wasnt that struck with this track, but after a few listens the track begins to reveal its full potential, sweeping melody, pained lyrics and all.  The deeply disturbing hes a boy, you want a girl, so tear off his cock, tie his hair in bunches, fuck him seems to ring louder every time.

Overall this album is, quite simply, fantastic.  It has everything a good album needs, and then some.  The many accolades it has are well deserved.  If you dont own this album, go buy it now.

Holy Bible, Canadian version;

This was something I only found out even existed a few months ago at which time I set about downloading as much as I could of it from Kazaa, so far Ive managed to get
Yes, PCP and she is suffering, the most different of those three is probably she is suffering.  In many ways the track sounds a lot more basic, as though it has been stripped down to the bare bones of it, Im not sure this change is entirely for the better.
