The Ramayana of Tulasidas
MAHAATHMA GAANDHI'S OPINION
"In the spiritual literature of the world, the Ramaayana of Tulasidaas takes a foremost place.
" It has charms I miss in the Mahabharatha and even in Valmiki's Ramayana. "
Names of God
" In my opinion, Rama, Rahman,Ahurmazda. God or Krishna are all attempts on the part of man to name that invisible force which is the greatest of all forces. "
Striving for Perfction
" It is inherent in man, imperfect though he be, to ceaselessly strive after perfection.
" In the attempt, he falls into reverie: and just as a child tries to stand, falls down again and again and ultimately learns how to walk, even so man, with all his intelligence, is a mere infant as compared to the Infinite and Ageless God.
"This may appear to be an exaggeration but is not. Man can only describe God in his own poor language. "
Traditional Definitions of God
" There are innumerable definitions of God, because His manifestations are innumerable.
" They overwhelm me with wonder and awe and for a moment stun me ! "
" My God "
" But, I worship God as " Truth " only. "
