ON THE PATH OF
KARMA YOGA
India's Dynamisim is based on traditions of living brought
into practice by following the greatest teachings of all
times, the teachings on KarmaYoga, delineated, with
great art and love, to Arjuna by Lord Krishna, in the
immortal classic, the Bhagavath Geetha !
Lokamaanya Baala Gangaadhara Tilak was one of
Bhagavath Geetha's greatest modern exponents.
It was Tilak, along with Avathaar Meher Baba,
who inspired and activated Mahaathmaa Gaandhi to
sacrifice himself, as a Karma Yogi, for the cause of
India's spiritual survival.
Both Mahaatma Gandhi and Bhagavaan Ramana
Maharshi have made their individual selections from
the Bhagavath Geetha to highlight this aspect of its
composite and integrated philosophical teaching.
Once, a difference of opinion arose between Mahatma
Gandhi and his spiritual disciple, Santh Vinobha
Bhave. The Mahatma sent him to Bhagavaan
Ramana to have the problem resolved.
When Vinobha sat at the feet of the sage,
Bhagavan's loving silence was more that sufficient to
solve the perplexing problem that had faced him ! !
The great Swami Vivekananda, of Vanga Desha, has
explained Karma Yoga, in great detail, in his classical
speeches and writings on Yoga.
Swami Vivekananda can be considered
a modern authority on Karma Yoga.
It was the revered swami's opinion that Karma Yoga is
best suited for the harmonious development of India in
the modern age.
