| The Netherland dwarf is a wonderful little breed of rabbit. It is our smallest breed maxing out at 2 1/2 lbs with an ideal wt of 2 lbs. There are 27 varieties as of this date and more on the way to being accepted by the ARBA soon. Because of their small size they are the ideal for any apt or home and can be housebroken with little effort.Ideal cage size would be 24in x 24in but 24 in x 18in is acceptable if they are allowed some time out of their cage on a regular basis.House rabbits should be spayed or neutered the same as any pet cat or dog. Here in Southern Florida, heat is a very real concern and it is recomended that you house your rabbits inside during the summer months. Purchase your pet dwarf from a reputable breeder in your area. Pet store bunnies are of questionable background and many "Dwarfs" grow to be well over the 2 1/2 lb limit.Some reaching 8lbs and up.
