The QARL proposes to conduct HAMFAIR every year. The HAMFAIR 2002 was conducted at Kollam on 18th May, 2002 with the Veteran Ham OM Jacob T. Koshy Vaidyan, VU2VAT, (State President Non-Resident Indians & Returnees Organisation) as the Chairman and OM P. Surendaran, VU2SYT as the General Convener.The event received support from many organisations. This gave opportunity for the ham equipment dealers to exhibit and demonstrate their latest products. VU2POP, VU3NSH, VU3OJA, VU3GNL, VU3VBN and many others exhibited their products. A large gathering of hams and SWLs attended the hamfair. A draw of lot was conducted by including the names of all registrants and a VHF transciever was given to the first prize winner and a radio receiver was presented to the second prize winner.
