We are offering two building clinics before our Indianapolis racing season begins. This is a great opportunity for you to come and ask questions as well as see the correct way to put together your own race car. Akron does a good job at providing the instruction manuals with each kit but sometimes instruction manuals can be misinterpretted. Whether you have just purchased your first soap box derby kit or you just want to make sure your car in put together correctly, this is a great opportunity to get advise from parents and drivers who have been there before. At any soap box derby event your race car could be the subject of an unannounced inspection; therefore, it is in your best interest to always have your car put together correctly. If you car does not adhere to the rules and instructions put together by the All American Soap Box Derby Assocation, you may be given a set amount of time to fix your car or be disqualified from racing until such time that your car can be put together correctly.

We are very excited to start a new organization called the "Indianapolis Soap Box Derby Jr. Leader Board". This board is made up of 12 soap box derby drivers and has two co-directors. The purpose of the Jr. Leader Board to be get the drivers more involved in the running of the Indianapolis Soap Box Derby Association. This group of children will be mentors to younger drivers, assist the Regular Board members, and take on some responsbilities for helping to promote soap box derby racing in Indianapolis. Since this is the first year for the program we have limited the number of children involved to 12; but we hope to grow this program in the future. We are proud to announce that the following drivers will be members of the Jr. Leader Board for 2009.
