SW:CCG Foil Page: A Brief history of the foil card in the Star Wars card game

Starting with Endor, Decipher has produced foil cards. Originally, the entire card was foiled, and the foil replaced the rare card found in a pack. Because common and uncommon cards were foiled, players became upset that their rare card was replaced with the foil of a common card that they already had numerous of in its non-foil form.
Then starting with Reflections, Decipher foiled previously exisiting cards thru "diffraction foiling." This differs from the Endor foils because only certain potions of the cards were foiled, enhancing the card's look. So rather than being able to blind your opponent with your Endor foils, only certain part of the Reflection foil cards were made shinny, which helped to highlight certain portions of the  picture. Overall, most enjoy the new style of foiling much better. Plus these cards tend to "bend" slightly less than the Endor predecessors, simply because there is less "foil juice." Also, rumors say that with the foils from Reflections, you can actually "peel" the image off, creating a "blank" card. (However, I will not be responsible for any ruined foils for those of you who try this :).
Tournament foils are foilized versions of existing non-rare cards that are given out to tournament directors, who then give one to the winner of their tournament and the other to a random participant in that tournament. Each month a new card is rotated into the program, with one leaving, meaning that a card is available for two months, and there is usually one Light Side and one Dark Side card.
Various other foils have been made as incentives for players, retailers, and distributors to buy products.

Below is a list of all of the foil cards created by Decipher.
