The members of the 11^th Indiana attended a preview of Gods and Generals on February 5, 2003. The movie was 3 ½ hours in length and was a big disappointment to most. After the success of Gettysburg, it was a real shame that a movie with so much potential was ruined by such a bad screenplay. Ron Maxwell could have done so much better. 

I was surprised to find out that the Benjamin Harrison Home will not be using reenactors this year in its program. However, I did talk to them about their distance learning program and we may be able to get some publicity that way.

Bruce R. Kolb has been elected Commander of the Benjamin Harrison Camp #356 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Phil McClure was elected as the Sr. Vice Commander. The Ben Harrison camp has been in continual existence since 1884. If anyone has a relative who served in the civil war and would like to join the SUVCW please contact Bruce at [email protected] or (317) 842-4367.

Markers were placed by the SUVCW marking the boundaries of Camp Morton. A dedication ceremony is being planned for the dedication of those markers. The 11^th Indiana will be the first company registered for this historic event. Watch the newsletter for this important date. This and Salem, Indiana are going to be our big events for the year.
