On Saturday, December, 6, 2003, the members of the 11th Indiana attended the Civil War show in Nashville, Tennessee. The members of the 11th met at Gary Schneider’s house and left at approximately 6:30am. The 11th stopped for breakfast at Cracker Barrel. There was so much food ordered by the 11th that all the plates could not fit on the table. Rumor has it that management spoke to Pvt. Caldwell commending him for being the only member of the party to leave a tip (I know that I left a tip before I went to pay my bill). Once we arrived at the show all watches were synchronized and we decided to meet at 2:00pm to determine how much additional time was needed to reconnoiter. A decision was made to meet again at 3:00pm but half the Company failed to appear at the rendezvous point. Being in enemy territory it was decided that they had been taken prisoner so the remaining members of the party headed for home. A great time was had by everyone. The missing men of the 11th are still considered MIA. 11th
Indiana Flags
|
The 11th Indiana is in the process of obtaining Regimental colors. Phil McClure purchased the fabric for the flag and Bruce Kolb procured the fringe to match our Nationals. A decision as to which design figuration to use has yet to be made. Phil McClure has graciously volunteered his wife Judy to sew the flag and Phil will paint it himself. Web Page The web page is progressing nicely and may be up and running by the end of the year. Tim Beckman is still going through all the information provided by Bruce Kolb for the web site.
