Control Arm Casting

Squeeze Casting Technology

Unique horizontal squeeze casting technology has been developed in India to manufacture automotive components in aluminum alloys. Special features include high mechanical properties (UTS= 400 mPa, YS= 300 mPa, Elongation= 10%), x-ray quality, free of micro-defects, nearly 100% yield, minimal fettling, energy savings, high productivity, low labour content, and simple foundry layout. . Innovations include utilization of low capacity press to manufacture large size castings, low-cost die design.

 

Investment Casting

Services offered include selection of wax injection presses & high-yield assembly techniques, design of shell room and shell system, melting and processing, penetrant & radiography inspections, process control. Documentation related to specification, standard operating procedures, incoming and in-process inspections. Technology to manufacture aluminum, magnesium alloys, stainless steels such as 17-4 PH, vacuum casting alloys such as inconel, Mar-M200 etc. Advice regarding yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity, import substitution, manufacture of aerospace components, MIL Spec.

 

Plaster Moulding

Technical services include selection of suitable plaster flour mix, melting and casting, process control, rubber pattern, NDT,  yield improvement, cost-reduction, productivity and import substitution. Implementation of vacuum investing and casting systems especially for jewelry manufacturing applications.

Services offered include gating and risering, die design and fabrication, die cooling analysis, and  design and fabrication of semi-automated casting extraction machine. Implementation of tilt pouring techniques. High integrity housing weighing around 20 kg has been successfully cast using computer simulation for riser design

On-site evaluation of gas porosity, grain structure and microstructure and implementation of Rotary Degassing, Grain Refining and Modification techniques that will result in aluminum castings with superior mechanical properties

Custom Process Design

Uniquely designed processes for highest efficiency and productivity. An impeller casting has been produced with directional cooling so that heavy hub section and thin vanes have been successfully cast with excellent soundness using a low pressure pouring technique in the investment casting process

Identification of causes and recommendation of remedial measures for casting defects such as shrinkage, gas holes & porosity, inclusion, hot tear, etc., in various casting processes and alloys. Rapid Prototyping Technology (RPT)

Pioneered in the development of rapid prototyping technology in the late 80s and developed a methodology to manufacture limited quantities of castings using stererolithography (SLA) plastic pattern by investment casting process  Casting dimension:300 mm dia x 400 mm height.

Computer Simulation

Riser design service is offered using computer simulation for investment, sand, low-pressure and gravity die, permanent mould castings. Evaluation of die cooling, chilling effects and riser sleeves is performed. Prediction of shrinkage location and remedial measures are part of the simulation.

Vacuum Casting

Consultancy on selection of vauum melting furnaces and casting techniques for casting variety of vacuum alloys such as superalloys, titanium alloys.

Heat Treatment

Evaluation of heat treatment related problems and recommendations for precipitation hardenable aluminum alloys and stainless steels

Electoslag Refining 

Project offered to manufacture tool steels using electroslag refining technique.

Indigenous Casting Machineries & Equipments

  • Mobile Rotary Degassing Unit - indigenously designed and custom fabricated cost-effectively to suit individual foundry need. This unit removes dissolved hydrogen more effectively as opposed to pills degassing techniques and is also environment friendly as it uses only nitrogen as carrier medium.
  • Porosity Tester- uniquely designed for testing hydrogen level in aluminum melt and it is a portable, low-cost apparatus. This unit is used to check the level of hydrogen in the aluminium melt prior to pouring.
  • Custom design of machines for Squeeze Casting, Low Pressure Die Casting, Vacuum Casting & Electroslag Refining
