Christianity

Christians follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, the common name of Yeshua of
Nazareth. Jesus, the Greek form of Yeshua, Christ in Greek for The Messiah or
The Anointed One was born in Circa 4 to 7 BCE. He was a Jewish preacher,
preaching while travelling from one place to another. The Roman occupying
authorities executed Christ in Palestine, on Friday 30-APR-7 CE (i.e. in the
spring of the year 30). Most Christians regard him as the Son of God, some even
believe he is God himself, the second person in the Trinity. The Trinity
consists of the Father, Son and Holy spirit, 3 separate persons, who are all
eternal, immortal, omnipresent, all of who formed a single and unified deity.
Some common beliefs of Christianity are

* That Jesus co-existed with God before creation of the world
* He was born of a virgin
* He was revived 3 days after death
* And later ascended to Heaven

Church History: After Christ's death, his followers established the Jewish
Christian movement located in Jerusalem. They were regarded as a reform movement
within Judaism. They continued to sacrifice at the temple, they circumcised
their male children and obeyed Jewish kosher laws etc. Originally a persecutor
of the Jewish Christians, Saul of Tarsus claimed that he had glimpsed the risen
Christ. Becoming the greatest theologian of the early Christian movement he
adopted the new name of Paul. The writings of the authors of Gospel of John
along with Paul's became the base of Christianity, as it is known today.

Non  Jews in the Mediterranean Basin, known as Gentiles were the focus of
Paul's ministry. The Jewish Christian movement was largely dissipated in 70 CE
when the destruction of Jerusalem by the Roman Army occurred. The dominant group
among the Gentiles became Pauline Christianity.
