I dreamt last Night
By Gordon Wood
There was a popular song written by Ed McCurdy in the sixties that spoke of puttting an end to war. The sentiment of the song is fine but man is incapable of putting into effect the wishes expressed by  the writer of the song .

There is only one hope for mankind - Jesus.

I recently had a dream I had no wish to wake from. I dreamed Jesus had come to earth the second time and He had put an end to the wars. It was a beautiful place.

Just imagine a world with no dying, no hunger, no fighting, no sickness, no arguing or bickering, a place of peace, a place where there is no fear at all, where everyone is loving and kind to each other, a perfect place - heaven, the presence of God.

I felt I was in the presence of  Jesus, there was a blissful feeling of  having come home. The glow emanated from Christ, although in my dream I did not see Christ I seemed to know I was in his  presence. I could hear him speak or more correctly seemed to feel him speak and fill my soul with overwhelming joy.

As the night wore on and morning began to break I became aware of the sounds of the house waking for the coming day. Children were getting ready for school, traffic was moving on the road outside. The noise of everyday life began to intrude onto the scene of my dream.

I did not want to leave I was in the presence of Jesus yet I was also aware of the world around me. Then the phone rang and I was back, it was with great regret I woke and got on with the daily grind.

The glow continued for a number of days after as I recalled the details of the dream. I could have gladly died that night, I felt so much at peace with my Saviour. It made me realise we have a goal.

The goal is life after death - heaven - the presence of  God. Jesus is the method, the how! If we believe in his sinless life, his death on the cross, his resurrection and the promise to come again, we  are told in the Bible we will be saved.

It is not wrong to think of  the reward! In the hard sell world  of today it may be the only way to reach many of the lost.
