Unquiet Slumbers For the Sleepers...
...In the Quiet Earth
Acrylic on canvas
16 x 20
July 1999
This painting was the first time I tried a wet on wet wash.  The background colour is very thin with the exception of the top left corner.  The challenge in this painting was creating a realistic and believable reflection on the water, and creating demension in a silhouette.  Oh, the black thing on the water under the moon is an island, not a ship.  Sorry this scanned image is so bad.  I gave this painting to a friend as a wedding present.

Oh, and the name comes from a "Genesis" song.  I think it is appropriate, however wordy
