Ice Age Coming
Acrylic on Beech Plywood
48 x 48
Summer 2001
This is by far the largest painting I have ever attempted.  4 foot square.  It has a bold feel, lots of bright colors.  I wanted to merge the Land and  water tones in a violent manner, while hinting at all of the underlying things affected by such a cataclysm.   There's even a little bit of mention of science trying to correct what has been done.  Notice the variety of wildlife in the painting?

The hard part came to when I tried to ship the thing.  UPS and Fed Ex wouldn't take it as the box was HUGE.  So I went to DHL, and they shipped it at enormous cost.  Highly recommend those guys though.  Got to LA in a day.  Quite cool.

Anyway, I used up just about all of the paint I had on this, which is kinda nice becasue I got to go out and buy a bunch of new stuff that I hadent tried yet  (As you will see in the next paintings as they come available.)

Please, if you are interested in a painting from me, request one a bit smaller.  This painting was done for a particular location, and as I am not opposed to doing on of this size again, per se, I am a bit wary of the shipping costs.  I am very satisfied with it.
