This painting...well, it is my first since Soldat. I knew I wanted to do something abstract again (my last two paintings having been portraits). Luckily, I received a call from the owner of Menagerie, and they wanted another painting...And...I had Carte Blanche as to what I was to paint. JOY!
This painting is unique...I used quite a bit of metallic copper paint mixed in with the other colors. This gives the painting a sheen that varies based on the available lighting. It is actually quite dramatic...the painting takes on a different as the lighting changes. The result is a very big, very ambient painting.
