The Three started playing togeather. They then landed a few gig's and friends parties. The band relized they needed a vocalist and picked up Brandon Boyd. The had wrote a few songs such as "Love Sick" amd Purple Kool Aid". In 1991 when they were all about 15 the group decided they needed a name. While Pondering Brandon Suggested "Spinal Staircase", Alex "Chimera" and Jose "Chuck-0-Funk". But it was Mike that pulled out the thesaurus and picked INCUBUS. A few years later the group begain playing gigs at their school and at local venues. Brandon drew fliers to publicize the shows.
While Brandon and Jose attended Moorpark Community College. Mike had tried out for Alanis Morisette, but was rejected. 1994 the band recorded their first demo with a 4-track recorder. In 1995 Mark Shoffner, a tour manager approched the band with an offer. So on January 7, 1995 Incubus released "Incubus" their first demo tape. And on November 1,1995 the band released Fungus Amongus.
While the band was playing a gig a DJ named Lyfe now (1985) saw them and liked what he saw. He joined the band and created a new style of music. Incubus was then labled as NU Metal. And grabed the attintion of major record lables.
After signing with Immortal Records in 1997 they released Enjoy Incubus on January 7, 1997.
After the release the band went on many tours opening for bands such as Korn, and the Urge. Incubus then his the studio and began writing tracks for their full lenght album debut S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and released September 9, 1997. They then hit the road and toured with 311 and Suger Ray.
In 1998 Incubus was having conflicts with D.J. Lyfe and fired him. They then hired D.J. Chirs Kilmore to replace him.
Incubus the joined the Warped Tour for 3 dates along with Ozzfest 98' until they joined up with System Of A Down. The then Toured onthe on the Family Values tour releasing "New Skin".
Incubus Then took time off and begain writing for their upcoming release Make Yourself and band debut with hit singles "Drive", "Pardon Me" and "Stellar" in 1999. The CD hit gold in just a few months after it's release.
While Make Yourself was making it big on the air waves, Incubus Purchased a home in California off Morning View Dr. and begain recording for the next album.
On October 23,2001 Morning View was released and begain touring with longtime friends Hoobastank. Morning View sold over 300,000 copies before November 1, 2001.
Incubus in late summer ended their Honda Civic Tour and are now on their last leg of the Fall Morning View Tour.
