About String Work
This strand of work was undertaken at college and is largely formal in character. I started making forms in this way because it was relatively unique; that is I had never seen similar work. I fond its rhythmical elements I explored this technique extensively for two years and then it became less and less of a challenge to produce and realize the forms I thought of. My creative thought processes where becoming too well defined by these forms, method and aesthetic.
I found that I didnt know why I produced such forms, I couldnt explain what they actually where and I had realized that this wasnt what I wanted to do with my idiosyncratic processes. I stopped doing this when I came to university but I may revisit this process after graduation, as I now understand why and what I want to communicate with image and sculpture, I think it may have some practical applicatory value; it may be commercially viable.
