| It all started when BoA's older brother turned up at a audition. But SM was looking for someone younger to groom. BoA, then only 11, was recommended. Upon meeting her, SM knew they had found an unpolished gem whom they could turn into a pricelesss jewel. BoA, who had always wanted to live out her dream of being a singer, was thrilled. But not her parents! They strongly objected to her becoming a singer. Reason: The talented singer was shining in school too, bringing very good grades back home. Like all parents, hers wanted her to concentrate on her studies. It was after much persuasion and effort by SM that they finally agreed to allow BoA to try singing. As soon as they obtained the permission of her parents, SM immediately embarked on a very focused training program for BoA, with the sole objective of making her into a international star. The 1st thing that BoA needed to learn was neither dancing nor singing. Instead, they threw her into foreign languge classes. A private tutor was hired to teach her both English and Japanese language. This was an essential skill that BoA absolutely needed to have in order to conquer the J-pop scene. Next BoA was sent to Japan during her vacations for additional Japanese lessons. SM's efort paid off. The intelligent girl picked up the language fast. Upon her graduation from elementary school, she headed for Japan again for vocal and dance lessons. And she was made to abide by the rule of speaking only Japanese during her stay in Japan. BoA was given the best. She had Japan's top dancer for a coach, and Japan's top hip hop dancer Kazeu personally went to South Korea to choreograph BoA's debut album. Now eyes are on her to give her best and to be the best. Can she deliver? Mark my words, she will, she will be the BEST !! |
