Chapter 7: In the Light of the Crystal

7-1:

After your 6-4 fight you are plopped down where this tavnazian mess began; Lufisaie Meadows where you were you caught your first glimpse of the region. You get a brief cutscene that's quite remeniscent of your first as CS in the region as well. to get a Ducal Guard's Ring select "check what the tarus have" when the options come up.

Alright, kids. Time for some more traveling. You have to get to mine shaft so either prepare for a walk or bring your ariman tears or snow lily.



7-4:


-Carpenter's Landing:

zone into South Landing and head to J-8. there is a ??? on a log in the NE area. This will spawn 4 Tonberries. Initially it wil spawn the Cryptonberry Executor which will call 3 of his friends. (they are all Cryptonberry Assassins. it does not specify what job they are, you have to watch them closely to siepher what they are) the Executor is a Nin, the others are SMN, BLM, and THF. they ALL have 2 hours. Do not take this fight lightly. SMN, BLM and THF 2 hours are not too bad, however, the Executor (NIN)'s Mijin does 1500 upwards to 3000s of damage to everyone near the area. They are fairly resistant to bind and silence and sleep, but not as much so with gravity. you can move the tonberries around. it is easier to take the three assasins and spread them all out as far from each other as possible. the Executioner has odd behavior: He moves to however has hate or at least from each of his buddies to buddy. you can keep hate on him, but you have to be continually casting or hitting him. it's really weird... just watch yourselves. he can mijin after nearly no damage at all, however. usually he would do so around 90%. kill them all and re-check the ??? for a cutscene.

-Bibiki Bay:

Travel to F-6 in the actual Bibiki Bay. another ??? in a cave will spawn Dalham. a Mnk Kraken... go figure? He starts off normally then will do the "two hour" animation 3 times. each time he'll speed up a little bit until the 3rd which is about as fast as Hundred Fists. So, it's not exactly a two hour. Examine the ??? again for a cutscene.

-Misareaux Coast:

Head to E-7 in Misareaux. it is before the gate into riverne. The wooden building has a ???. check it to spawn Boogleman. a bugard. He initially doesn't resist, but he builds a resistance VERY VERY fast. blm or rdm cannot -kite- solo it. it, however, is slow attacking so you can kill it as say rdm/nin. (resistance fast as bind will stick fully 2 times. 3rd time halved. 4th lasts seconds. 5th lasts a second. 6th a second. 7th resist. 8th resist) He is the easiest of the NMs in chapter 7. examine the ??? for a key item and cutscene.




7-5:

So the big moment has arrived. the BC before sea. Get your group ready and head into the Den. 30 min time limit. you have 4 ememies. Three you can't do anything to and one you must defeat. It is a good idea to distract the trio you can't do anything to by casting Diaga on. (You can hit them with that and I forget what else, but you can't kill them... and it won't alter your BC if you attempt to besides waste your time and lives).


-The Trio enemies will target whoever's distracting and hit them with magic. they will also heal your main enemy and help him during the duration of the fight.
-1 main emeny: Tenzen. you must depleat him to 20% HP. uses Eagle Eye Shot and Meikyo Shihui. he has relic bow and GKT. He can apparently use Meikyo Shisui more than once however I have not seen it. He will attack your tank with normal samurai attacks and weaponskills. he will also turn about shooting his bow at each person in your party one, then another, then another. After so long your tenzen will eat a rice ball, which will half your damge. When tenzen uses Meikyo Shusui he will creat a skillchain... then finish it with a 4th WS to creat Cosmic Elucidation which does around 1k damage. However, like the snoll tzar fight, if he gets off Cosmic Elucidation you'll be thrown out of battle alive or dead. Tenzen is vonurable to normal enfeebles... however... he resists decently... and stuns would only work half the time.


----myth: Chainspell stun will stop him. => Stun is unreliable. it may delay him for a couple seconds, but you will lose. do not rely on chainspell stun.
----myth: If the person with hate (tank) dies before he gets off his 3rd WS, his 2 hour is interrupted and cancelled. i'm going to have my tank kamakazee to win! => tenzen will change hate after your tank dies and continue on with his weaponskills till you all die. don't die in vein prz.
-----win: the best way to go about winning is to prep for a fast battle like snoll tzar again. sleep to get TP and begin with and open with a SC into a MB with all people in your party able to MB that SC. then fight, get TP, repeat. use icarus wings for a 3rd SC. have a mindset that you MUST KILL HIM AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. if you do that he won't get anything off, he won't even use his two hours. and you will win. easily.


Chainspell is better used for Tier III nukes than it is for stunning. Damage > delaying WSs...because you really can't delay them. We went with: Pld (me, level 66) Sam (level 63 o.O) Rdm (75) Rdm (75) Rdm (68, just cured and dispelled) and Smn (75). We opened with Smn 2hour. Shortly after I 2houred and the Sam used Meikyo Shisui to create distortion. Both 75 Rdms Chainspell MBed Blizzard III. The Sam then made a second Distortion and the Rdms MBed again. The SMN used her 2hour when it was up again and the Rdms just kept nuking. Easy win with 1 death. -Waef (from alexander)


My best advice for tenzen do like you have store tp outside go in and zerg him as hard and fast as you can... but there is a trick. Bring a rdm/drk after the 1 or 2 sc (if using icarus wing) have the rdm chainspell stun while blm blow manafont and go all out EES Mighty strikes what ever you can you only get one shot every two hours so make it count. My personal set up was Nin/war, Thf/nin, Blm/whmx2, Rdm/drkx2 We didn't know if one chainstun would be enough it was. Nin and Thf used sleep pots for tp opend with distortion bliz4x2, iccarus wing distortion blizgax2, then chainspell stun manafont and unloaded. I was the only death cause he got off a sidewinder like ws on me though the stuns but he still went down. -Malechi (some guy on KI)


My set found that if you engage him with shadowbind he just tries to shoot you, we went in as RNG SAM/RNG BLM RDM SMN BRD Started with an astral, then rdm chainspelled and nuked with the blm while i (sam/rng) spammed sidewinders. (Even when i eventually pulled hate all he did was shoot me not melee) We finshed him so fast that our ranger only had time for a barrage and tenzen didnt even do one WS Also to note when just me and the rng went in to test if i could actually land swinder on him, we were testing if we could shadowbind or not and sure enough the exact same thing happened.. he doesnt run to melee you. -Roffler (some guy from KI)


After winning you will be transported to the western portion of Al'taieu. congratulations. you now have sea access.
