A day in Trieste (in-line contest) - 30.6.2002
Early in the morning we (Matev˛, Lovro, Matej, Toma˛, David and Marko) decided to take a part on in-line contest in Trieste (Italy) which was organised by Freestyle (skate and in-line shop in Trieste). So we went on the train in Gorizia. At 10 o'clock we came to Trieste. We have discovered skatepark very quickly. It was put up just for one week in the centre of Trieste. It was composed from two quoters on the each side, a very nice jumpbox with 2 rails, and a pyramid on the middle and one small rail.
That day many sport entertainment happened. So at 10 o'clock we came to skatepark, but unfortunately there wasn't allowed to skate until 6 p.m. We decided to wait there for permission for skating. It was very very boaring!
Finally – 17.00 in-liners arrived. They came from Croatia (Umag, Rijeka), there were also many italians and a couple of slovenian guys – in-liners from Nova Gorica. J
It was quite high level of skating. Each skater had two runs (each run was one minute long). At 20.00 first run started. We were skating well, but a lot of folks were also very good. After firs run it was one hour of training and then second run started. Best five riders went on to the final where they made an application for prizes.
Marko did some very good tricks in final, so he won first prize – 200 euro. It was very late (one o'clock in the morning) when our parents came for us. We went home happy and with one beautiful experience.
We must also mention that for Marko was this second contest and for all the others their FIRST contest!!!
