In-line Gorica contest - 6.7.2002

Slovenian in-line is very poor. That's why we decided to organise in-line contest here in Nova Gorica. When we had enough money from our sponsors, we started to organise it. We had to assure prizes and that folks will come. And then we had to repair our skatepark because it was in very bad condition.
Finaly the »day D« began! 6.7.2002 - 7 o'clock – Marko, Matevž, David, Matej, Tomaž and Lovro are already in skatepark! We prepared all necessity and assured of good music. At 11 o'clock in-liners started to arrive. They came from Italy, Croatia and Slovenia – Gornja Radgona, Ljubljana and Nova Gorica.
At 16.00 first run started. It was composed of two categories – youngest than 15 years and oldest than 15 years. It was very interesting for all competitors and also for lookers-on. Each competitor had one minute long run so we were very tired after first run. At 18.00 second run started. Samo Bajec had shown a lot of attractive tricks like bajo and 900 over the jumpbox.
After second run, when judges were summing the results Danijel, Sebastjan and Jernej (in-liners from Nova Gorica) made a show at vert. It was delight to watch them. They were very good.
We decidet not to have final for youngest category because it was to little competitors (only 7).
And than finally – big final started. People were enthusiastic for those seven guys who came to final run. A lot of good tricks was shown in final. Samo was the best! He absolutely won the contest. At second place were Marko and Jernej, third was Sebastjan.
At the end we prepare also best trick competition. Jernej did very good grind on the fence of the quoter an than 180 off into the quoter, but judges prefered Marko's backflip on the big quoter.
So contest passed over and all organisators and competitors were enthusiastic. We hope that in future it will be more in-line contests in Slovenia! Ljubljana, Gornja Radgona and Velenje – now it's your turn!
