The following writing samples are from published works by J.S.P. Cummins. The first two chapters from "Song in the Head" originally published in Cummins' 2003 book Waves Crash are an example of James' own fictional creations (warning, the language in this piece is at times explicit). "The Fox Isn't Watching the Hen House, No One Is" is an article that was first published in 2006 by the business news wire service FinancialWire that covers a highly controversial and timely economic issue. "Apology" is a series of poems that appeared in Snow Monkey Journal in 2002. Finally, a monologue from the play Glimpse which was performed in 2004 by Sound and Fury Theatre.
