ARCHANGEL OF ENDURANCE
The world is harsh, and must be endured.
Adam is the most unusual Archangel in the Heavenly ranks, for he is not an angel at all - he is the man created especially by God for the Eden Experiment, at the instigation of Lucifer.
Adam wandered for many centuries in the wilderness and harsh terrain of Nod before being forgiven. He was not a mortal man, because he had been created directly by God, and God's touch lingered upon him. He struggled through hardship and want, unused to fending for himself after Eden. He eventually became almost a beast, his wits and reason all but gone through decades of hardship. He knew nothing of the changes in the world - that Lucifer and a third of the Host had Fallen, that Magog Fell, that Archangels rose and fell - and sometimes Fell - with clockwork regularity. He was concerned only with keeping himself alive.
Eventually, he one day awoke in the hall of the Seraphim Council, seeming to have just laid his head down to sleep. The Most Holy were horrified at the intrusion of this dirty, smelly, and above all, Corporeal creature in their midst, and cries immediately arose for his destruction, until a low-ranking Seraph of Yves looked deeply at the cowering human savage. "Wait!" he cried. "This is the First!" The Seraphim looked at him and themselves in astonishment, when suddenly, a blinding radiance filled the chamber, the very Light of God, the Light that is so bright and Holy that it burns the unrighteous to ash, and the whimpering Adam disappeared at the same time as the Light.
The Seraphim were astonished.
Even more so, when, exactly 3 days later, to the second, Adam reappeared on the floor of the Seraphim Council Chamber, resplendent in his newly restored mind and body, his face shining as brightly as does any which has been bathed in the direct light of the Godhead.
The Voice filled the Chamber - "He is to balance Lilith," it said - and disappeared. Adam was made Archangel of Endurance that same day.
Adam has learned from his mistakes; he realises now, he says, that he mistreated both Lilith and Eve, and he wishes their forgiveness. None know if he has it.

Seraphim
Seraphim of Endurance can use their Resonance to tell whether or not someone is truly tired, and how far someone can carry on until exhausted. In practive, this effectively allows them to determine a subject's Vessel level or Strength for Celestials and other non-humans, or a subject's Toughness rating or Strength level for a human.
Cherubim
Cherubim of Endurance can tell the exact physical state of their attuned without rolling.
Ofanim
Wheels of Endurance are able to run and run and run� They automatically succeed in any roll involving the Running Skill or similar, the check digit being equal to their Corporeal Forces.
Elohim
The Elohim who serve Endurance are some of his most gifted and valued Servitors. Adam gives them the Resonance-based ability to find what would be a person's emotional breaking point, and what would help him or her regain some stability and self-respect. These angels often work hand in hand with Blandine's Menunim.
Malakim
Virtues of Endurance can perform the Corporeal Song of Form for no Essence cost! They can also perform it on a willing subject; normal rules then apply to both the Malakite and whoever he/she has performed the Song on.
Kyriotates
Adam's Kyriotates can gift their Hosts with extra Body points for a short time when they leave them. The Kyriotate rolls Will, and spends 3 Essence. The check digit times three is given as extra Body points to the Host for a number of days equal to the Kyriotate's Corporeal Forces.
Mercurians
Intercessors who work for Adam can give other people mental strength to get through times of pain or suffering. With a few kind words, or a sympathetic gesture, a Mercurian can increase a human's Will. The angel must roll Will - the check digit divided by two and rounded up is how much the human's Will increases. This effect will last for a number of days equal to the Mercurian's Celestial and Ethereal Forces.
SERVITOR ATTUNEMENTS
Sight of Suffering
Angels with this attunement are able to discern what is causing a given person the most pain or trouble at the moment of use, and solutions might be applied.
Roll Perception, and consult the following Chart:

Coeur d'Lion
This Attunement allows angels of Endurance to pass on some of their strength to others in danger, that they might endure. With a Will roll, and expenditure of Essence, the angel can amplify a person's Corporeal Characteristics by (CD x number of Essence spent), to a maximum of 3 Essence. Use of this Attunement leaves the angel drained and dazed; he is effectively unable to much besides rest or sleep for a number of hours equal to the CD of the previous action, unless he manages to make a Will roll. This ability can only be used on one person, and only once per day. Its effects last for a number of hours equal to the angel's Celestial Forces.
DISTINCTIONS
Vassal of Fortitude
This rank gives the angel a +1 bonus to all rolls involving Strength.
Friend of Survival
An angel with this Distinction can, with a Perception roll, spot whether a situation will give rise to danger.
Master of Power
Masters of Power can pass the angelic abilities of surviving without sleep or nourishment onto humans with a Will roll. The effect lasts for CD hours, and can affect as many humans as the Angel has Forces. This will also affect Soldiers.
RELATIONS
Many of the Archangels have a great deal of respect for Adam, because of the sterling work he does in promoting morale amongst the Host. Some, however, are suspicious, remembering Adam's Sin with suspicion, and also remembering who asked for the Eden Experiment to take place� Adam is unqualified friends with some, such as Eli, and David, their words working hand in hand, but finds others to be rather repugnant, such as Dominic, and, surprisingly, Gabriel - she was sent to give Adam the order to leave Eden. She was not responsible, but he still bears a grudge. Another two whom he finds distasteful are Janus - because Adam craves stability - and
Jean, because Adam has a certain mistrust of new knowledge; and who can blame him? Still, he is not hostile towards them so much as coldly indifferent.
