A dwarf is common in Scandinavia. There are three types, Black, Brown and White. Black dwarves are solitary and quite gloomy. Brown dwarves are next. They are Mischievous and more likely to interact with humans, they have been accused of kidnapping human children!! But I am sure this is not so!!
White dwarves are the ones most widely spread throughout Northern Europe. They are comfortable above ground, but tend to return underground at sunrise. White Dwarves like humans more than the previous two types.
In Norse Mythology, dwarves resided in the realm of Svart-alfa-heim. Weird name I know!! Dwarves are very similar to gnomes. They both hoard precious stones, metals, and artifacts. We do love gems. We are mostly of the male sex. Height is about 1 meter 20 cm, often smaller. Dwarves tend to be stocky and muscular. They have ruddy cheeks and very bright eyes. Their skin is typically deep tan or light brown.
Their hair is usually black, gray, or brown, and worn long, though not long enough to impair vision in any way We can still be found in the middle of inhospitable forests and in the mountains.
We dig for gold and silver in extensive mines, and live in groups.
And We are masters of metalwork. All of us are good-natured except for a solitary few, possible exiles, who are capable of performing ugly deeds. If a dwarf should fall into human hands, he buys his freedom with gold. They do not have beards. SO many people think this. But trust me it is not so!!
