Once I was asked to leave a seminar where they were trying to sell you things such as 1-900 numbers, learning blocks, how to sell scholarship information, and shirts that turn different colors if they got to hot. Today I was not asked to leave Indiana�s Premiere Waterpark and that was so nice I had to come twice. It was 10:00 a.m. and 74 degrees when I returned and I started off the day at the Tube slide because I was in no hurry today and while it is my favorite ride I don�t often ride it. I went on it 10x in a row. It was fun but the stair count went up to a mere 440 stairs.
I then went around the river just a bit before going to the storm and today I started at the cyclone and worked the way to the vortex and Ashley was not tired today and I was surprised. She said she went to bed at 11:30 p.m. last night not this morning. I found it hard to believe. In all I went on the storm a total of 5x in a row and then on the dragon once a group of kids was going so I wanted them to clear out so I went to the river for a bit . I was happy to see Alex because I love her. Her leg seemed a bit marked up and she said that was because she was sliding in a softball game. Alex playing softball now that�s the stuff dreams are made of. Actually I usually dream of her playing soccer but maybe tonight it will be softball. I never found out if she was safe into the base that she was sliding into.
I went to back to the dragon and finally I can win at the game I can�t win at lets see if we could get Rebecca to talk. She was at the top of the dragon so she kept saying cross your arms, your legs lean back and go it was great I just love to hear her talk and I didn�t have to put any effort forth. As long as she was at the top I could have kept going just like the energizer bunny because I enjoy her voice so. I learned that Ashley fell down some stairs and hurt her back which is why she actually went to bed early. She could not verify if it was 4 or 5 stairs and apparently it was embarrassing to her. I was not embarrassed for her. It had something to do with delivering papers with her friend who is a guy. He would be lonely doing that in the morning so when she is home she helps out. She shouldn�t ask if I was doing the same thing wouldn�t I be lonely I mean I am just a sad lonely guy waiting to die but at least I can ride some slides until then. This would not be the end of this story today though
I next walked around the park searching for Misty was unsuccessful in finding her. I did stop in the US 30 Surf Shop located in the front of the park to see if there was anything I was interested in purchasing so that my sister could immediately take from me there was not today but you never know what they might have in there so you should check it out. I went to the storm and lucky me there was that mean girl at the vortex at least her hair looked cute it was in pig tails and since I must be a glutton for punishment I went on the vortex 2x and the cyclone once. The stair count went to 1,422 for the day. It was 1:00 p.m. and 79 degrees when I left Deep River Waterpark.
Now it�s time to play everyone�s favorite game �Where�s Emily?� and if you guessed in Health Services and wearing shoes I have to say wow you are good because you would be right today. It was 3:29 and 79 degrees when I returned in the trademark yellow swimsuit. I went on the dragon 2x and then around the river and everyone was back in place from the morning. Now this was better than a dream because at one stand there was Alex and at the next stand �The Totally Terrific Tina� who could ask for anything more. I then returned to the dragon and was so happy that Rebecca was at the top talking it was so great until the line died down and like the last 3 times when just I was going down she just said go. That made me sad what happened to cross your arms, your legs, lay back and go? Well sure I know that but from Rebecca I want to hear it. Earlier in the day I got to but I don�t think Rebecca likes me because while I claim to be in extremely good condition when there was no line I couldn�t even sit down and she was already waving hands for me to go probably thinking I got to get him off of here quickly I just kept going never got to catch my breath. That�s ok if I were selecting today which I am not Rebecca would get Mark T�s Female Rookie lifeguard of the year award.
Now more about the stairs and Ashley she could not verify whether it was 3 or 4 stairs or whether the paper involved was the Post Tribune which I subscribe too and do not like when it is rubber banded because the terrorists who are out to get me make rubber bands that end up injuring me and going everywhere. I tried to get all the details that I could but some you just are going to have to feel in the blanks although I am certain that I heard her say �3 sum� which shocked me I only thought that was in books but what do I know. I do know she had a rug burn on her arm. I do not know how it got there.
Ok lets get back on track do you think Ashley should win the 2003 female lifeguard of the year award? Well her last day is Monday so I am thinking that she won�t win because not enough time served this year she does run a very good slide though. If I were giving the award today which I am not projected on July 31 after Mark T�s 3rd Annual Say Goodbye to July which is from July 19-July 30 12 days that I hope to be at the Waterpark if I were choosing today it would be very tough because there are lots of contenders but I�d give the award to Cori so can she hold on and in a 1st I�d pick her brother Clint as my male rookie lifeguard of the year and the siblings would have it but I�m not picking today. I�d give the male lifeguard year award to Mike again tempted to give it to Dustin just for the 9 years or maybe David but he�s no Dustin.
I went on the dragon a total of 9x in a row I got to ride the curved one this time. I then went to the storm and isn�t it just my luck even that mean girl was back in place as I went up the vortex and then I went over to the abyss and then the cyclone and then I went to my favorite ride to finish up the day the tube slide and the total stair count this time 1,270 total for the day 2692 total for the year 43,050. Now I just had to find Misty after I did exactly as she told me and Hopkins directed me to her and eventually I found her and she was in Health Services with Grant who now made it on this site 2 days in a row after not seeing me all year. It was a Tootise roll Toostie Pop Tooooooooooosday on Wednesday that is a bit confusing. I thought everyone wanted it stopped but I was able to give out like 6 today on my way out I saw Alex with Mike see how this goes. Why did I tell Alex I like her that is suppose to be a secret. Mike pointed out �The Totally Terrific Tina� to me at the wave pool I did not want to get to close but could see that she was wearing those glasses that I don�t care for. It was 5:24 and still 79 degrees when I left I�ll be back on Saturday July 19 when hopefully I�ll be back some point each of the next 12 days why don�t you come on out Deep River Waterpark too. You�ll be glad you did. I�ll see you there.
We're only days away from Mark T's 3rd annual "Say Goodbye To July" when I will try to be at Indiana's Premiere Waterpark 12 days in a row. It all begins on Saturday July 19 how many days do you think I will make it there and how many will you. First for the first time this year I actually get to return to Deep River Waterpark within hours as I am coming tomorrow morning so I will be happy because that is what keeps Mark T from the dark side and believe me pushing being on that side this summer. It was 5:48 p.m. and 84 degrees when I returned good crowd gatherig.
I began the day over at the storm and in no semblence of order mostly on the abyss I went 10x in a rown. Guess who made his way to the top of the slide if you guessed Brian you would be wrong he was at the bottom fishing and found some keys. He got a tattoo on I think his ankle I am not sure if he was intoxicated when he was inked up. I don't like getting highlighter on me that is a hazard of my job though. The correct answer would be Grant this might be the first and last time he was back pushing on the slides. There also was a girl up there who I learned was named Ashley but there may be to many Ashleys. There is the classic Ashley who some say the original is the best or the Ashley who is always tired but man can that girl run a slide and now this Ashley isn't that confusing. She confused me something about a sweatshirt on top of the dragon on Saturday the Lauren character already does the sweatshirt bit and we all wonder where it is even when it is 100 degrees. These 2 people did better than the 3 up there yesterday.
I went to the dragon and I rode it once twice and then I went to the river to rest and around that I went and then back to the dragon I went and I went on it once twice and once more and guess who was at the bottom of the dragon if you guessed Emily you are wrong it was Ashley and earlier I had seen her flirting with a maintenance guy whose name I bet I could get because he made fun of her neck why we he make fun of her neck. I mean her eyebrows were dark and her hair was light and I think she had some sort of pins in her hair there is no need to make fun of her neck he was sorry. I had to see if she wanted to be set up with him but she did not know his name and then I felt bad for the guy because she was only trying to get a free cookie from him. He should feel so used. I don't know Amanda Perez and probably neither do you.
I could not verify how old Ashley was the range was from 17-19 I think she is 16. She said her birthday was in December 1984 I am not sure what day but that is ok because I don't deem her calendar worthy I was most concerned about the year. She said it quickly but said it wasn't to get smokes and while the tobacco industry is prohibited from Advertising I can continue to encourage you to smoke and there should be more places that allow smoking in them. If you want to smoke at Deep River go to the front gate and get your hand stamped and you can smoke out there. I climbed 1,110 stairs today so for the year the total is 40,368.
I began to walk away and let her rotater know this girl might be just a little crazy I am sure he told her. I saw Misty who did not think I knew what today was and I do know it is Tuesday but she said it was Tootsie roll Tootsie Pop Tuesday but I thought that was old and so am I just ask Cori. I had discontinued that which is why no one has gotten a tootsie pop this year but I feel that everyone should just do what Misty says and that would be best so I told her I would stop at the store and bring some with tomorrow as I should be back around 10 and she was excited I think she will be back at like 9 isn't that great? She was on a mission and so was "The Totally Terrific Tina" her mission wasn't to go to dinner with me though and that made me sad and her mission wasn't to get a different pair of sunglasses because the ones she was wearing don't match anything and just look strange don't worry I let her know that I did not like them I don't like them and I don't like when she rolls up the sleeves to her shirt other than that I like "The Totally Terrific Tina" birthday April 29 see now if we could just get her to like me. Her mission was to hypnotize me with her beautiful eyes know wait it was to clean up chairs. Well I don't know how it could get any better than peering into "The Totally Terrific Tina's" eyes so I made my way to the exit.
Jimmy the Cuz had some nice looking shoes I liked them. It was 7:42 and 79 beautiful degrees when I left the park. Finally I get to do what I have longed to do since June stay at the park during the night and then return the very next morning on Wednesday you don't know how happy this makes me. How long will I stay I don't know. I will have the tootsie roll tootsie pops with me made sure stopped and got them before I got home but not at the Target so I did not get to see the "Ever So Delightful Dana" but I did exactly as Misty said and you should too. Deep River Waterpark is now open from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily this is the last full month of operation so now is the time to come all day and play. I'll see you there.
It was 3:48 p.m. and 85 degrees when I returned to Deep River Waterpark. Today I don't have a whole lot of nice things to say so I will try to be brief and remind you that the sun will come out tomorrow and it will be a brand new day. It was a rough day. I was going to start the day off at the storm but it had returned "Chaos At the Cage" Pushing and shoving going on there. I went to the dragon up once and then returned to the storm since there was a lifeguard at the cage now the chaos had died down. I went up the stairs to the abyss very slowly not a line seemed to move and I wondered why. In the entire history of the storm I have never seen every line go so slow and I have been at the park on much busier days. Sometimes the vortex line gets long but the abyss and cyclone whats with this?
When I got to the top I saw why it was so slow as the pattern was push a person or 2 go to the other slide chat for awhile and then go back. I don't mind people chatting if there is no one but this was ridiculous like we are so sorry to interrupt your conversation heck you can just yell at each other and keep pushig this caused the 2 slides to stop and that is why it took so long. Since that took so long just for one ride I went to my favorite ride at least that would be quicker. I then went in the river so that I could wait for these people to rotate from the top of the storm. I went once on the draong and then once everyone rotated I went on the abyss and then the cyclone and while yes there still were lines they were actually moving which was different than before.
After that time was running out the stair count a mere 424 would this lead to my defeat int he 1,000 stair game time for the show and over to the dragon I would go and just my luck I end up with that mean girl at the top well I think she is mean until someone proves me wrong. At least she could run a slide though that is good. I rode the steep slide 7x in a row and I win again stair count 1,082 making the toatl for the year 39,258. I left the park at 5:42 p.m. the temperature was 84 degrees.
I should say something nice so thanks to the Totally Terrific Tina since because of her I bought the stock Thornburg Mortgage symbol TMA Tina and Mark on September 26, 2003 and at the close of business today with the dividends it has been paid in that time the stock is up 49.43% an annualized return of 61.99% see even if Tina will continue to smash my heart at least liking her as paid off in one way. Hopefully begining on Saturday July 19, 2003 its Mark T's "3rd Annual Say Goodbye to July" when I will try to be at Deep River Waterpark 12 days in a row. Some people have the 12 days of Christmas I see keep them for Mark T. its the end of July. We will see how many I can make and how about you. Don't forget Tubin Tuesday tomorrow night from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. admission a mere $7.00 or come earlier and stay all day because you get 3.5 hours for free. Come to Deep River Waterpark. It was 10:00 a.m. and 74 degrees when I returned to Deep River Waterpark. The park opens at 10:00 a.m. they were lined up and rearing to go at the front gate. I got a few compliments on my shirt people like it and so does my sister who is trying to take it from me it is a blue shirt with Kermit T frog standing in front of the stars and stripes. Kermit and I share the same middle initial and for Kermit it's not easy being green and for me its not easy being a sad lonley guy simply waiting to die. Until then though may as well have some fun. Today I went on the storm. "The Totally Terrific" Tina was at the bottom of the cyclone and her sleeves were rolled up on her shirt I do not like that. Her hair was down.
I just kept going on the storm and eventually David got to the top of the vortex where does that guy hide? "The Totally Terrific" Tina made her way to the top of the abyss and she wore a sweatshirt what's the deal with that. In all I rode the storm 30x in a row for 1,920 stairs and then I went to my favorite ride whitewater and down it once I went and then Cori was the attendant there and she was wearing different sandals and it was very complicated to as why I think I may have gotten a headache from that. Lauren was thrown into the storm but not by Cori and then her sandals broke so she asked Cori if she could borrow hers because she had to work the buyout but had no sandals and Cori let her borrow hers which will be returned tonight but then what shoes did Cori where home and these sandals used to be her mothers but then she gave them to Cori. See what I mean.
Cori had a blue ribbon in her hair I liked that. Do you think Cori is calendar worthy? On my calendar I have birthdays marked down. Alex April 1, "The Totally Terrific Tina" April 29, "The Sensational Sasha" May 24, "The Awe-Inspiring Amy" August 19 "The Ever So Delightful Dana" October 25. Jessica K December 31. I am pretty sure Emily's birthday is in September but the calendar isn't in front of me because it is at work it has pictures of porches. The only birthday I am missing is from "The Cute Redhead" "It could be the DAWN of a whole new era" because I am to afraid to ask. Cori never met my sister we only appeared one time together this year and I think that may be it and she was disappointed she did not meet Siobhan. I do not think my sisters would like Cori because they don't like most people but they may like her since I am not interested in dating her. It was unprecendented when they both gave 2 thumbs up to the "Cute Redhead" but since then it changed to one up one down. They do give the "Ever So Delightful Dana" both thumbs up she is their favorite and perhaps mine too. They have gone thumbs down on "The Totally Terrific Tina" think she is mean. I think Cori is only 20 so she will not be able to see us working together at the St. Maria Goretti Festival on July 24, 25 & 27 when we roll the dice in the evening in order to come and gamble with us you must be 21. I went on the body slide once and then around the river I went and there was Erin and she was tired how do you like that. Later I saw Mike but he was not at the top of a pushing slide. I do not like that. I went over to the dragon and at the top this girl had heard I had a website could you imagine that. I don't know her. She had bought a new sweatshirt because her other one got wet and all brown I do not know how that happened. I went on the dragon 3x followed by once on the abyss and then I wad done the stair count 2,354 the total for the year 38,176
Deep River waterpark is open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily since I am hosting my nephews baptism luncheon after I become the godfather I probably won't be there tomorrow so you know what you need to do you have to go and find out what is going on there. Tonight at the Illiana Speedway in Scherrerville Indiana its time for the Bus Rodeo at 7:00 p.m. Admission $15.00 if you are not going please watch an all new episode of Monk tonight at 9:00 p.m. central on the USA network. Don't forget next weekend its time for St. John Fest located at US 41 and 93rd Avenue and then a day I'd never thought I'd see when my sister and I roll the dice at St. Maria Goretti Fest on Thursday July 24, Friday July 25, & Sunday July 27 on Friday will really be working late so come and see if Mark T. can still stand then. The fest is open to all but where will be you need to be over 21 to gamble. Now finally I returned to Deep River Waterpark which you should come to it was 2:07 p.m. and 74 degrees. The sky was gray and would the weather today put an end to my 2 season winning streak in the I can climb 1,000 stairs a day game.?
I started with a tour of the park from the dragon to the storm and Kristen was at the vortex and she wasn't good because she had a knot on her forehead apparently she was in some sort of acccident. I continued on to the tube slide and it was time to play everyone's favorite game "Where's Emily" if you guessed whitewater attendant you'd be wrong. Her brother Jake said she was at the wave pool today I wasn't going over there so I do not know if she was wearing shoes but that is where she was today. I went on the body slides and at the top was Amber and we have the other piece of the puzzle. She had a bag of ice on her head as apparently her and Kristen were involved in some sort of accident. If I could see better I could have read her lips better and probably gave more details but that is what I got and can you believe this she was wearing a towel because someone stole her pants and her jacket. Now who would do such a thing? She was having a rough week but the week will end and Amber will be short and I like short people so that is a good thing.
I went around the river and Mike was there and wouldn't get to the top of the abyss to maybe 4:30 and I have to leave at 4:00 p.m. so what is the deal with that? After the river I went back on tour to the dragon followed by storm. I started at the vortex and just went in the traditional pattern. Rebecca came to the top of the cyclone and in the most frustrating game I play I could not get her to talk today. It is extremely difficult for me to start a conversation with anyone I usually just talk to people if they speak to me first and then I'll go in directions not even you know and today everytime I rode the cyclone complete and utter silence. Rebecca seemed to be cold today but I do not know why.
At one point it was just raining over the storm now how about that. I got to see Erin at the cage and that made me happy except where I took a hint that she thought I was old as dirt. She had a sticker that said wow I think thats what lots of guys think about her. I learned she had some smart friends and is now reading books cause a lot of her smart friends read. I was concerned about these smart friends they get all A's. On my college transcript there are 39 A's and nothing else but I don't think Erin believed me she can come by my home and look but then she would have to play me in air hockey and I think I could take her even being so old. I have a difficult time beating my father though and yes I do have an air hockey table with an electronic scorekeeping device. It is 7ft and 186 lbs and have been known to break some windows my home. Erin new alot about the weather. I wonder if she would read "Devil in the White City" by Erik Larson for me then she could give me a report and I could pretend to read it. I prefer people think I am illiterate although it is then hard to explain how I write this. I mean I only own 3 books "Buying Stocks without a broker" which was given to me by the author himself Chuck Carlson, "Why not Me?" by Al Franken and "Growing Up Catholic"
Erin was going on break next not tot the top of the slide and that made me sad I told her to hop over the fence to get a tube and the hop wasn't good if you want to see someone hop the fence the best still is Hopkins now that girl can hop. In all I rode the storm 10x in a row making the stair count for the day 1,340 I win again at least at this game. The total for the year 35,822. I asked Erin if she would turn around so I could throw the tube at her head but she said no but at least she is working tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. so there's your reason to come out to Deep River Waterpark as if you need one. I'll be back then but who knows after that as on Sunday I host my nephew's baptism luncheon and I become the Godfather. Summer will quickly pass by so you need to give Deep River Waterpark a try. I,ll see you there.
Did the rain scare you away because when I returned today at 3:40 p.m. the temperature was 89 degrees and the parking lot was not even half full. I began walking toward the dragon and were my eyes deceiving me Jimmy the Cuz was wearing a jacket. Apparently he forgot his shirt. I do not know how that is possible I can never in my life remember leaving the house without a shirt on. Maybe I just don't have as good of body to show off like Jimmy the Cuz doesl. I went on the dragon and at the top was Erin who had not seen me in quite awhile since the 4th of July now is 2 days of not seeing me really a long time. Maybe she missed me. I was very happy to see her especially up close very nice smile. She had some new sandals I dont know what they were made of they reminded me of a children's toy they were blue which is my favorite color but they had a like green connector at the toes. I like that.
I just alternated between curved and steep slide not really any lines there today. Eventually Erin went down and I was sad cause I might like her she did not slide down walked down after telling people it is easier to slide down than go down. She said one day we should ride the storm slides together I certainly am up for that she has a deal. I'm not hard to find so lets see if Erin will really ride with Mark T. I sure hope so. She was replaced by Amber who is fun and let me know that my face was turning red maybe I should put something on that I don't know what I have SPF 70 sunscreen on it and that has been since Friday nothing I can do now. So since its coming soon Mark T's "Say Goodbye To July" we have to think will the former Rookie female lifeguard of the year become the new Female lifeguard of the year? Will The Totally Terrific Tina continue to smash my heart but keep her crown even though it is extremely difficult to repeat? Have the cards already been dealt and if so is Cori holding the winning hand whatever that is? (I don't gamble except on horses oh and come and see my sister and I roll the dice if you are over 21 at St. Maria Goretti Fest July 24, 25, & 27 in the evening will be dealing) Or have I decided already and have a secret which may just be a sensational one or will Ashley finally win you and I will see as we go through the month
I went on the dragon a total of 10x in a row Hopkins came along to the bottom but this was not the wave pool. Who told her I have no comment on her sandals? Today they at least were a give away because though I can barely see far away these days I could tell it was her from her sandals on the ground boy did they shine. She had a toe ring of a playboy bunny which I really had to lean in to see. I like that. I next went over to the storm and rode each ride once then to my favorite ride the tube slide and there was Ashley she was tired from being out in the sun all day one day I need to see her at 10 a.m. to see how perky she is but she said she wasnt doing jumping jacks this morning. When I came down the slide I completely lost my hearing it was rather scary and I walked over the bridge and still could not hear eventually when I got to the 1st flight of stairs it returned thank the good lord.
I took a rest around the river and I did see Rebecca and I tried to get her to talk today and failed :( and that made me sad. I asked if she just pulled up that chair because there was just a beach chair on the stand not a regular one attached she just shook her head no. I continued around the river. Eventually I saw Alex she was super hot. I splashed her she made some very strange faces I don't know if I like that but I do love Alex. It was the most fun I had all day. I got out of the river and guess what time it is time to play everyone's favorite game "Where's Emily?" if you guessed bottom of kiddie you'd be wrong. The answer today top of the abyss. She was not wearing shoes. She ran her slide satisfactorily so I went on it 2x.
I went on the vortex once and the cyclone 2x making the stair count for today 1,540 pretty good on such a hot day. The total goes to 34,422 for the season. It was 5:10 p.m. and a whopping 91 degrees when I left the park. I sure had a good time today and hopefully soon I will return again but I really don't know when the sooner the better why don't u come out tomorrow when you can get 3.5 hours for free as the park is open from 10:00 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. come after 6:00 p.m. and admission is a mere $7.00 because it's Tubin Tuesday. Summer will quickly go by so now is the time to give Deep River Waterpark a try. I'll see you there.
Yesterday I climbed 4,058 stairs I would not be doing that again today but would that be enough to ruin my winning streak at my 1,000 stair game the last time I lost that game was in 2001. It was 9:57 a.m. and 78 degrees and very windy when I returned to Deep River Waterpark. The sun is no friend of mine but the wind is worse. I started the day off planning to tour the park and at the dragon I began and at the bottom was Lauren wait isn't today Saturday and her day off. It is Saturday but it was Lauren she is off tomorrow I went on each slide once and then over to the storm and up the stairs to the vortex and down I went. Next up the stairs to the abyss and then from up above even with poor vision I could see that stand fly and into the vortex catch pool it went. In 9 years I never saw that happen before this was somthing new. As it appeared no one was hurt I could laugh because it was really funny since I nor anyone else got hit in the head with the stand.
Everyone had to be diverted to the cyclone. Luckily it was early so not to much of a catastrophe. I finally saw this Molly because that orange bag went flying in with the stand. This messed up my tour of the park so I skipped the abyss but that is ok as I rode it quite a bit yesterday. I went to the tube slide and Mike was at the bottom not at the top whats the deal with that? I then went on each body slide once look I learned a name Nancy was at the top there and the time I came down the enclosed slide I heard Cori's whistle blow and to the side I went to watch her jump in good job. My tour was complete except for the abyss so I went to the curved dragon slide and then the vortex followed by the abyss they had recovered the stand now and the umbrella was drying out.
I then went on the tube slide again thats fun. Then I went to the top of the body slide and it was chaos at the top I thought I had ended up at the dragon. I saw a big group of people mulling up there but no one seemed to be going on the slides thats just weird. Cori was trying to stack tubes and at one point she nearly flew away with one they certainly were a mess but by the time she was done there was some organization since I didn't want to see the spectacle at the top of the body slides any more I went on the tube slide and then the river which was a lot of work with so many empty tubes had to get through them I eventually did. I saw Rebecca and I got her to talk today that made me happy. She was wearing a jacket because the umbrella was not up and I strained my eyes to see Nancy and compare the 2 and I just don't get the resemblence maybe if I had my glasses.
I then went on the abyss hey I am familiar with that. I then went on the curbed dragon slide 2x and that made 1,054 stairs for the day and 32,822 for the year. I win again and since I hope to be able to move my shoulders on Monday and not to have to wear a button up shirt I knew had to get out of the sun so that ended the fun plus I admit it was kind of windy for me today. It was 11:57 and 82 degrees when I left the park. I should be back tomorrow good lord willing. Hopefully it won't be so windy. Deep River Waterpark is open 7 days a week from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. come on out and have some splashtastic fun. I'll see you there.

It was 9:45 a.m. and 82 degrees when I arrived to Indiana�s Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. The main parking lot was already half full and cars were coming in. Today it�s time to play the game. Oh wait first everyone�s favorite game �Where�s Emily?� If you guessed at the top of the abyss you�d be wrong the correct answer today wave pool so I do not know if she was wearing shoes. My guess would be she was not. Now it�s time to play can Mark T. climb 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July. After all there are those that say I am aging so lets see come with me down memory lane. On Tubin Tuesday July 4, 2000 I was at Deep River Park 2x during the day and with the aide of America�s Sweetheart and Mine Kristen J I climbed 3,694 stairs to lose the inaugural game of 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July. On Wednesday July 4, 2001 temperatures were in the 80s and at the end of the day I had climbed 4,060 stairs wining the game. Last year it was the busiest I had seen the park all year and the crowd got in my way and I came up very short with a total of 2,904. So what happened in attempt 4? I started the day off at the storm and guess what there at the vortex was Rebecca she really worked the storm for me isn�t that great. She even said she was great today and I didn�t even have to get her a quarter and since she was at the vortex early I actually got to ride it a few times. In all I rode the storm 25x in a row. I had to turn in one tube at time 10 got one with a broken handle but what do I care? I was able to use that one for quite a while and with 1,600 stairs climbed the line was a bit long so just to show that I still can I went on the dragon even though that wasn�t the plan and I rode the dragon curved slide 2x. I then went right back to the storm and the abyss indeed did prove to be my friend today. Also, for once it paid off to be sad and lonely because the line for double tubes was much longer than singles. This time I cut back on how many times I went on the storm only 19x in a row this time. Christine was at the abyss so I saw her a lot up there many rotations came and went that made 3,004 stairs climbed. I do have tremendous leg strength it is the rest of the body I have to worry about like am I being burnt to a crisp even with this SPF 70 sunscreen or will I get dehydrated or have some sort of heat stoke because it certainly was hot today. At this point I decided to take a break I had ridden the storm 44x and the dragon 2x today that is a lot of slides in a season for some folks. I needed to use the restroom anyway which was a good sign. Some people love Christmas I love July last night I could barely sleep was so excited was up at 6:00 a.m. this morning had 2 glasses of water to prepare. It was 1:30. There are not a lot of people that know more about Deep River Waterpark than I do and I can tell you that the worst time to climb stairs there is between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m which is why you seldom see me there. The reason is feel free to come the admission goes down at 2:00 p.m. by $2.00 so you have an influx of people and there isn�t a whole lot of people leaving than. From 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. I rested. I went to Milo�s Sweetshop located near the dragon and I had a bottomless shake well it was large but I thought I would never get done with it. One of the secrets of the park is Milo�s is air conditioned and it is the only place that really has room for you to eat in the air conditioning despite the fact the park was so busy Milo�s wasn�t and I sat at a table sipping the shake. It was good I just shouldn�t have gotten a large. I reapplied sunscreen I had to sneak a peek at Alex who was the tube attendant at whitewater because she is like super hot. That made me very happy but don�t tell anyone ok? When I was walking to Milo�s Siobhan walked with me not a lot of people walk with Mark T. now can I get anyone to ride a slide with me maybe this will be the year. She asked what I was up to 3,004 so I would definitely make it you don�t know it is all about the lines. My legs were not tired on she went and on I went. So from 2:00 I only have 994 stairs left to climb to win this game. Here we go I go to the abyss 2x the line for tubes gets tangled so I exit to the dragon and go on that once and that lines gets really long down like 2 flights of stairs the count goes to 3,226. I learn that Nancy who has done a fine job at the cage is Rebecca�s sister. If you locked the 2 of them in a room and asked me to choose the 2 girls that were sisters and gave me a clue that the girls in the room might be I would never guess that. Nancy is 2 years older than Rebecca had I been thinking I bet you she may know how tall Rebecca is. They do not look a like and I did not mean to be mean but I like Rebecca�s voice so much and Nancy sounds totally different. I think in my entire life I have only met like 5 Nancy�s one was my best friend at �The World�s Only Superbank� Citibank when we worked in branch accounting there. I just kept on the abyss and I got up to 3,354 stairs and I looked at the guys watch and it was 2:45 so it had taken 45 minutes to climb 350 stairs this seemed that defeat may be staring me down again maybe I shouldn�t have taken that break but the march went on and eventually Christine came back to the abyss. You know you have gone on slides a long time when you get the 1st group back in place but when you are like on the 3rd group back in place it has been awhile. I kept going and going and on the abyss I reached 3,994 stairs now there is some good planning on my part. This girl at the cage here name was Erin asked how long I had been going on this and I told her since 10:00 a.m. she thought I was crazy. I probably am after all my theme song is Billy Joel�s �You May Be Right� I mean it just may be a lunatic you are looking for. I then had to mention I took a break from 1:30-2:00 p.m. but other than that I was riding slides all day. When I needed to rest I went to the vortex the one time in the afternoon I was trying to rest on the vortex I got to the top and thought this really went fast and there was Rebecca so the next time I switched to the cyclone to catch my breath. So can I climb 6 more stairs? I don�t know lets see well I went on the vortex because in no hurry anymore and kept going after the 6th stair and there was Nancy sisters running the same slide how about that we could really have some fun if I decide to have them both be contenders for the same awards now couldn�t we. It was 4,058 stairs when I reached the top so that makes 2 years out of 4 maybe I�m still not to old after all. The total for the year goes to 31,768. It was so much fun. I rode the storm 59x today and the dragon 3x a total of 62 slide rides all in one day. When I got done Erin asked me when I was going to stop. I told her when does she think I should and she said now and since she was good looking which I did not say if she is not 18 or over I said I�ll listen to her. See how easy it is to get me whipped. Usually girls named Erin are problems for me I hope this doesn�t go the same way. It was 4:42 and a sweltering 94 degrees when I left the park. Hopefully, this didn�t take all my energy and I�ll be back tomorrow morning but if I am not you should be make a weekend out of it the park is open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily and today was a very busy day and I say hooray to the maintenance staff even with all these people it seemed very clean to me. It was time for a tune up. Can you believe it is July 1 already and this was only my 17th time this year at Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. It was 5:46 p.m. and 85 degrees when I returned. Tonight was to be an easy night because I am preparing to climb 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July. I began at the dragon and at the curved slide because there was no line there so down I went and at the bottom she speaks and she said "Hi Mark T" now how would she know my name? I don't know but it made me happy though as Rebecca has the best voice since America's Sweetheart and Mine Kristen :) I could listen to her talk for a long time. Since I was happy I could go home finally a Tubin Tuesday that I was having fun at this year. I did not go home though instead since I do not plan to be on the dragon on Friday unless it comes down to that I put on a show although I don't know for who it was fun for me and it proved I still can climb stairs. I went on the curved slide 5x in a row there was not a line at all. I then went on the steep slide 5x in a row the deepest the line ever got was 2 people so not a lot of rest. I had a lot of fun and now I know if necessary I can still do that. Once on a much cooler night than this I rode the dragon 33x in a row and with 94 stairs if I were to do that on Friday I'd only have 3,102 stairs and I am sure I'd be out of energy about on time 8 I felt some energy loss. After that I may as well go round the river and lucky me who did I see but Alex at wavepool river. Her hair was down. Everyone knows I like ponytails love braided pigtails. I liked Alex's hair down perhaps just because I love her so I don't know. This guy in the river said she was the first person to be smiling in the park. He later asked me if I was an employee and I told him emphatically no. Although I did see some off duty guards in the river Jamie and Sibohan they are not the same people how about that and lets see who did we couple them up with Bobby and Kevin right? I could not get Rebecca upgraded from Good I was going to offer her a quarter if she could change to great but I didn't think that would go over well. I did find out that she is working on Friday that makes me happy but she does not know if she will be on the top of the storm and by that I mean the abyss or the cyclone. The abyss needs to be my friend on Friday if I stand a chance. She gave a hand motion of I don't know. I don't like that because I like her voice so much I want to hear it. If the season were to end today I'd be sad and Rebecca would be my Rookie Female Lifeguard of the Year but it doesn't end today so there is still time. Time to play everyone's favorite game, "Where's Emily?" If you guessed at River 2 you are wrong. Tonight we find Emily at the bottom of the cyclone. She was not wearing shoes. I went on each storm ride once and then the abyss. Dustin was at the cyclone he may be getting to old for this no Dustin say it aint so it is not time to go. On Tuesday nights the crowd is much younger so it is easy to feel so old. I believe I have one more season after this left in me so Dustin should too when the park opened we were 9 years younger. While I admit I am old I am still looking for the person that can keep up with Mark T. I doubt anyone can climb as many stairs as mean especially in the time period I do even if they are younger than me. For my last ride I went on my favorite ride the tube slide aka whitewater the stair count went to 1,240 making 27,710 for the year. I left the park at 7:30 p.m. the temperature was 82 degrees and a crowd was begining to form. I return on the 4th of July when Deep River Waterpark will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. as it is everyday. We will see if I can go from 1 out of 3 to 50% success on the 4th of July or is it time to stick a fork in me because I'm done. I'll battle the heat, humidity, the crowds, the stairs and now maybe even a thunderstorm I'll need every minute available to me and hopefully all the "lineworthy" guards will make their way to the top of the storm.
