The weather was much like that of an opening day. It was 68 degrees at 10:18 a.m. when I returned. On opening day their is an air of anticipation and the park is completely staff though the crowd usually is sparse. Today, the crowd was sparse and the park was sparsely staffed. The feeling in the air was we just some how must get through this weekend and then can breathe a sigh of relief. I began the day at the storm complex. Dustin was up there he won't be there tomorrow because of a blueberry fest and an Oktoberfest but shall return on Labor day.

Next I rode each dragon slide followed by my favorite ride of them all whitewater. I then went on each body slide. It was good to see that Rebecca had her hair back in the nice ponytail I don't know what happened to it last week. I wanted to take her picture as she sat on the chair there betweeen the body slide and tube slide but the camera was MIA and I only have 19 pictures left to take.

I went around the river lots of blind spots today somethings weren't to pleasant to see. I then returned to the dragon. The brisk truck was being set up probably with more people than were lifeguarding today. Tomorrow is Justine's last day ever well I have $20.00 that says she will be one and done. Her hair was in a bun I don't like that. She said she only wore it that way at work. She has above average looking hair so she should not wear it like that. Will Justine return to collect the $20.00 from Mark T. in 2004? If she is a lifeguard at Indiana's Premiere Waterpark I certainly am a man of my word but I don't think she will be back.

I rode the dragon slide 2x each then the vortex followed by each body slide and then concluded with my favorite ride 3x making the stair count 1,250 for the day and moving the count to 71,370 so with 2 days to go how many stairs do you think I will climb in 2003 we will see. Deep River Waterpark is open tomorrow Sunday August 31 and Monday Labor day September 1 from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and that is it for 2003 so you are nearly out of time this year so come out now. I'll see you there.

Endings are tough which is why they are best left scripted. However, this year no script in place so as the end of season number 9 comes it is extremely tough especially with a week break in between. We are down to the last 5 days and as someone that comes to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark alot I can tell you that once they started closing the last 2 weeks of August when they open up on the weekends there is just something different. The excitement of anything can happen is gone many people are gone never to be seen again but at least it is open. It was 10:15 and 79 degrees when I returned took the tour of the park riding each slide once. At my favorite ride it was the original and don't you still think the best Ashley? (certainly better than that Sears Ashley) it was good to have her pushing for awhile.

I took one lap around the river and then went to the dragon I rode the curved slide once and the steep slide 5x because there wasn't any line at all for that and at this point of the season I certainly can go up and down the stairs with the greatest of ease. It was good to see Rebecca at the top of the dragon I think her hair looked different today than everyother day. What's with that. She had a band-aide on her right hand but I did not inquire why. She did speak to me so that made me happy I love her voice so but who knows how many times I will get to hear it again. She wanted to know why I always kicked water down the slide. I told her because if you watch it is a cross the kick down is the final piece of it. I am a good old catholic boy and I have ridden the dragon more times than anyone unless you can prove otherwise and knock on wood I have never been injured I stick by that. If no one is in the way I like to get a good kick in at the end and watch the water fly it won't go down the slide but I will I have to adjust the kick so as not to splash anyone.

Eventually Rebecca had to go and that made me sad but she said "bye bye" and since she spoke that made me happy. Even though I have a fear of phones I'd listen to Rebecca speak on one I wonder if she ends with Bye or Bye Bye. I personally use the "Buh Bye" I made my way over to my favorite ride whitewater. On the way passed Dustin great to see him only 2 people on top the storm today and very busy you could see the lines it is tough with 2 people on busy days but what you going to do?

My last ride today my favorite one of them all whitewater and the stair count went to 1,120 making it 70,120 for the year. That is a lot where will I stop well there are only 4 more days that Deep River Waterpark will be open in 2003 they are tomorrow Sunday August 24 and then wait a week until Saturday August 30 through Monday Labor Day September 1 so time really is running out so come out today to Deep River Waterpark I'll see you there.
