It was 1:38 p.m. and 84 degrees when I returned to Deep River Waterpark. The crowd was not all that large. I was happy to see people buying cotton candy which is available near the lockers for a mere $2.00 later in the day I even saw a line now that is what I want to see. I cant believe that it was 4 years ago on this very day that I bought my home. It was a cold day how time flies when your having fun. It was much warmer than it was in 1999 today. It is someones birthday. For those of you who follow Mark T. you remember she reached in grabbed out my heart, put it in a blender, drank the blood and spit it out into my very beautiful hair. We should not delve into the only person ever to be banned on this site who has led Mark T to believe there never will be anyone for me. At least now she cannot destroy me but came very close and isnt the damage done already anyway. Now only The Cute Redhead from it could be The DAWN of a Whole New Era can do that and I dont know her birthday even though I have had a crush on her for years and usually the give away is that I know your birthday if I like you. I digress. Lets focus on the fun.
I started on the tour of the park but took the storm in the reverse of usual today from the cyclone to the abyss to the vortex Christine was back from Minnesota that explains why I havent seen her for a while. The tour took a detour when I went back to the dragon just to show that I still can. I went on it a total of 5x. The gal at the top was Rachel. She had the most beautiful hair color I have ever seen and I am pretty sure that is not blonde. She is going to be tough competition in the Best Hair contest because I really like that color even though I dont know exactly what color it is.
The stair count quickly went up to 850 stairs I then went on the vortex followed by the abyss and there was Emily finally we found her. She appeared to be wet. She was not wearing shoes. Apparently she was going to start dating the guy at the vortex I did not catch his name whats the deal with this. Next, I went on my favorite ride the tube slide remember Julie she was there and that was followed by the ride around the river.
I then went back to the dragon and finally I found Siobhan but it is hard to play that game because I havent learned how to pronounce her name and she was leaving missed her by that much. She was going on break so could not follow her there. I went on the abyss and there was Jamie this was not the wave pool but she wasnt at the pool today and then over at the tube slide was Hopkins who also was not at the wave pool what is the deal with that?
I went back to the river Emily was at the family pool and so was the stand thank goodness. It sure was great to see James from food service even though I dont know where he has been all year he says he has been at the park. I saw Cori her hair was down today. I then went to the storm Siobhan was at the bottom of the abyss her hair was down it seemed to have somewhat of a curl in it. I like that. The slides were tough I went down the abyss and cyclone and then repeated. I was spent hopefully Ill be ready for the 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July we will see. Today it was 1,480 and made the total for the year 26,470. I left the park at 4:07 p.m. it was 80 degrees.
It is the week of 4th of July so why not give Deep River Waterpark a try. It is open from 10:00 a.m until 6:00 p.m. daily with the bonus on Tuesday until 9:30 p.m. when I may or may not be back. I will be back Friday trying to climb 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July but I will stop if I cant I have been successful in 1 of 3 tries. Come on out to Deep River Waterpark now. Ill see you there.
Nametags worn in visors for or against? Your opinion please. It was 9:57 and 74 overcast degrees when I returned to Indianas Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. I began with a tour of the park going from the curved dragon slide to the steep dragon slide, to the storm complex to the tube slide where Alex was the tube attendant. She was sitting in a chair curled up. I asked her if that was comfortable she said it was. She looked as cute as a well I shouldnt say bug think of something else cute and insert here. Alex sitting in a chair with her knee up. I like that. As I continued on the body slides Alex kept sitting like that and that is good she is a killer cutie.
Into the river I went and I saw Cori her hair was different today. It was down it is long. She is going to cut it off and donate it and someone will be very lucky and happy to have such beautiful hair. I wish that I could grow mine long enough because what joy it would bring to someone if they could have the hair of Mark T. Will Cori finally win the best hair award this year. In order to do so she must defeat the gal with the classic ponytail Rebecca and that wont be easy. Who knows who else will emerge to compete.
Cori was going to the dragon and so was I. When we arrived it was quite loud and many people seemed not to be going down and definitely were not rule abiding there was sliding down before the lifeguards signal. When I came back up for the second time things were better off but I felt bad for Cori could use some reinforcement up at the top of the dragon today. I rode the steep slide 2x then went over to the storm but before I went up I noticed the tubes were in total disarray. The double tubes were near the sign that said single tubes and vice versus. The guard was working on that later everything looked good. I learned her name was Julie. She already knew me as Mark T. There is only one of me so my name must be easier to learn than every single lifeguard at Deep River Waterpark
At the top of the vortex was The Totally Terrific Tina. Her hair was down today. What is the deal with that was there a memo issued for the hair to be worn down today? I rode the vortex a few times. The Totally Terrific Tina had a different towel today she got it from her closet. She had not had a chance to talk to Rebecca but she is going too. I dont know what about. She asked if she was here today. I told her that I had not seen her today and that made me sad L Id like to know what The Totally Terrific Tina will talk to Rebecca about maybe she will give her pointers on how to win the Rookie Lifeguard of the Year contest
I returned to the dragon and now the crowd had dispersed so asked Cori how many times I should ride this and she said as many as I wanted and then I nearly made that one time as I lost my balance and slipped and was ready to go down the curved slide of the dragon by falling down. I am glad I did not fall I like to believe that I could have recovered somehow because there is no one that has ridden the dragon more than Mark T. unless you can prove otherwise.
I went around the river again I got to see Alex and that made me happy. She did not have to lower the chair for her feet to reach the stand. She is so cute but it would be even cuter if her feet were dangling in the air because of the high chair. She was cold today and it might rain and then she would get wet which Id like to see. I missed it last time when she was hot and got in the water. I told her she needs to let me see her get in the water before the season is done. She said ok. I told her to promise and she did wow now that will be a dream come true.
I then went and played on the storm for the rest of the day on the cyclone mostly and sometimes the abyss where the landing were very tough. When I was on stair 2,020 Cori told me I looked tired. How am I going to make it on Friday if I look tired only half way. The Mix a radio station was at the park I hope Dustin got a keychain or something. He was going on break next or I would have personally gone over there and got Dustin something. He was going to work 12 hours today. Luckily Cori had a watch so I could keep track of time. I left just after she did and no I was not following her. I just end up at the storm a lot and like slides.
Isnt everyone wondering wheres Emily? I dont know where she is but maybe we will see her tomorrow as I may or may not be back tomorrow but one thing is for sure weather permitting on the 4th of July Ill be at Deep River Waterpark trying to climb 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July. The plan is to ride the storm 64x that day and hopefully not all the abyss but I will if I have too that would be 4,096 stairs only need 63x to win. Today I climbed 2,532 stairs making the total for the year 24,990. I left the park at 1:06 p.m. the temperature was 79 degrees. Come on out and enjoy the summer at Indianas Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. Ill see you there.
Last night my doorbell rang and when I opened the door the girl standing there asked me Are your parents at home. Perhaps I am not as old and feeble looking as I have been led to believe. It was the first Tubin Tuesday I have missed in a very long time but it was just to hot for me and I was spending some time with my nephew who is 3 weeks old today. Today, however I was glad that I got to come to Deep River Waterpark. It was 1:00 p.m. the temperature was 91 degrees. There were enough vehicles that I was able to park in the auxiliary parking lot.
There were some lines but that was ok because I had plenty of time to play. The slides I was unable to ride today were the curved dragon slide and the vortex so I did not take a tour around the park. I started off at the dragon since the steep slide had a shorter line that is what I went on. Luckily there was not to much Chaos at the Cage so with some organization it was safe to ride. I went on the cyclone 3 times. I then went on my favorite ride the tube slide as long as was going to wait may as well go on something I liked. I was disappointed that today at the top of the storm or whitewater there were no guards that Mark T. deems lineworthy Everyone did fine under the conditions just some like Mike, Tina, Ashley, Amber & Rebecca keep everything moving safely and very quickly maybe we will add more to that list.
I returned to the dragon went down the steep slide asked Jake where is Emily because isnt that what everyone wants to know. He guessed at the top of the body slide so even though that really is not my favorite ride I went up to the top it seemed like 45 minutes but I have no time piece and can you believe that they built a guest service gazebo so that the peak blocks the only visible clock in the park line of sight is obstructed and I dont know where any other clocks are I wish they would put one back in the locker area cause now I have to walk quite a bit for the time toget. Last year I could strain my eyes and see.
Emily was not at the top I rode the tube slide cause it is fun. I then went into the river with the stair count at 468 and there was Emily maybe an hour later she would be at the top of the body slides what is the deal with that. Cori was at the wave pool river her hair was different it was not in pigtails and that makes me sad but she apparently had gotten her head burned she was Getting By I dont even know what that means. It was good that she was still alive because she has a bad heart. I am glad people like to be alive. I am just a sad lonely guy simply waiting to die.
The river was a bit rough today that is what happens with some people like to create a wave pool in the river or simple traffic jams. They should just be thrown out of the river than. I asked Rebecca how tall she was and she said I dont know and then like 15 seconds later 58 I dont know if that is accurate so I am trying to find someone to verify. I just like to hear her talk. There was something like at 4:00 p.m. that I did not like to hear some sort of screeching came on the speakers I think it was suppose to be singing. Ok maybe it is because I do not like music but I found it awful and wanted to cover my ears.
I splashed The Totally Terrific Tina that was so much fun. I dont know about that little kid that followed and splashed her a whole bunch and kept yelling die. After the river I went to the storm. I managed to ride the storm 6 times only could get on the abyss and cyclone it was pretty good moving now not to long a wait for tubes. The stair count moved to 852. Now Emily should be at the body slide up I went and she was there she was not wearing shoes. I then went over to my favorite ride the tube slide it was moving ok rode it 3x. Mike was the attendant he worked last night. He was taking tickets one moment and at the wavepool the next. He is a Renaissance man. (editors note he said I could use that) He was able to fine The Totally Terrific Tina at the family pool. What else do I want to know or where anyone is. I think the list goes Emily, Tina, Lauren, Alex, Rebecca, Siobhan, Cori (but usually I can find her because I look for the orange sandals), Jaimie, Hopkins (but they are both usually at the wave pool) then anyone else that will be friendly and has something to say. Id like to know where James is in food service I havent seen him but now I should not be searching the park.
I told him to go and see how tall Rebecca was and tell me the next time I came back. She told him 58 now I can have everyone in the park determining how tall she is. The stair count went up to 1,028. I went over to the family pool and just in a chair was The Totally Terrific Tina there was no stand I did not know if she was working or just sitting there she was working. She had a Mickey Mouse towel, which she found at her house that she liked. She did not pay for it though and had no small children in the household. It could have belonged to Jimmy The Cuz but now she had it. Apparently she wanted to get rid of me quickly because after she told me that Rebecca should be measured she told me to go over there and ride her slide and see if she will talk to you. I cant just start talking to people. If people talk to me I am more than happy to talk to them but I very seldom start conversations let alone at the bottom of a body slide. Tina had not talked to Rebecca so she doesnt know if she really doesnt like me, which Is my concern. There is a chance that she is ok with me. I hope so since she is the early line favorite to win Mark Ts female rookie lifeguard of the year award.
Well since I could not do that she pointed out that Lauren was across from her like I couldnt figure that out well actually without the aide of glasses I couldnt because I can only see that someone is there have to be closer to see who. I could tell that she was not wearing a sweatshirt so The Totally Terrific Tina said go ask her why she isnt and I have to listen to her if it is something I could do. The sweatshirt was in the car today. Lauren had a new bottle she lost her Deep River Waterpark bottle that said staff on it. Now wouldnt I like to get my hands on one of those as a collector of Deep River Waterpark Memorabilia. Who at the end of the season wants to sell to Mark T? She had a nice looking bottle she got it from a sports store. I offered to buy that even though I did not really like the color.
The river was to rough for me so got out and on my favorite ride I went and now Emily was at the bottom of the tube slide she got there like 5 minutes ago. I went once again but this time there was a putrid smell on the last flight of stairs up to the tube slide. Lots of comments about where did that come from because just moments ago there was no odor in the air. This was terrible so it ended my day but that was ok. The stair count on this busy day was 1,106 making the total for the year 22,458 I left the park at 5:11 p.m. the temperature was 92 degrees.
I return to Deep River Waterpark on Saturday June 28, 2003 while Im gone the next 2 days you should come on out so you know what is going on. Please dont forget to watch an all new episode of Monk on the USA network Friday June 27, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. central time. Summer is upon us and the best way to stay cool is to come to Indianas Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. Ill see you there.
Cori is not married I repeat Cori is not married. It comes as a shock to me too but guys she is available to date look for her picture on the main entrance or come and see her. I was devastated to hear that her and that guy I met last season had gone separate ways they seemed so happy together. This makes me absolutely miserable, as there probably will never be anyone for Mark T at least with Cori and this guy together hope sprung eternal. My last slide today was the body slide I just went up the stairs to see Cori I didnt really want to go on that but why not and now hopefully I rectified that situation. When I asked her how the wedding was and she said good I was asking about her own wedding apparently someone she knew had gotten married and not her because she is to young. I think she is 20.
Ah so I am going in reverse today I made a note on Lisas hair who is not a blonde because it was in braided pig tails which is my favorite hairstyle. I saw Hopkins I still reserve judgment on the sandals of a lime green I think they are very unique. She was terrific today but it took her some time to think about that. It was a pleasing response though because try to be more creative than fine I like that. I saw Lauren was not wearing a sweatshirt today. It was only like 90 degrees what is the deal with that. At the tube slide Mike was up there I like that I rode it 2x usually on days like this I could forget that but since he was there I could go.
I arrived at the park at 4:12 p.m. it was 89 degrees. I usually can climb 1,000 stairs an hour though it is tougher on hot days like this. I went on the storm because those are the most efficient stairs to climb. At first I just went to whatever line was shortest. I hit all the slides and at the end I went on the cyclone because Ashley was pushing and that girl can move a line and does it well there really was no line there at all when she was pushing I liked that but I couldnt make her smile today. She was tired went to bed early at 2:00 a.m. I really wanted to know how someone decides to go to bed then why not just stay up all night. I dont think I have ever seen this 2:00 a.m. If I could get her to smile I was going to offer her a lock of my oh so beautiful hair but that seemed even to crazy for me
I rode the cyclone 9x in a row it was a very good looking slide today I still give the most fun to riding the abyss 15x in a row with Rebecca pushing the most fun. She was at the bottom of the cyclone eventually and is not why I rode that slide the most because I certainly couldnt get her to talk from there although I would have liked that. It was all about efficiency and wondering where is Emily?. I switch to the abyss once and then back to the cyclone and asked the guy what time it was and he said 11 after 5:00 which was nearly an hour and I had climbed 1,162 stairs. At the end of the day my total was 1,294 not bad for such a short time on a hot day now is it? The stair count for the year is now 21,352
On the way out I saw Lauren for the very first time this year what is this new mascot Miss Splash I dont like that maybe if I see it but they certainly could have come up with a better name. Apparently she is going to many open houses on weekends. Megan was there but not the replacement Megan who is very nice. Megan had her nose pierced I think that means she wants anarchy. She also had a different color hair and I am all about the hair so what the heck am I suppose to say while I am once again accused of favoring blondes. There are people without blonde hair that I say have nice hair ie The Cute Redhead from "It could be the DAWN of a whole new era" and yes that is a true story that is on the front page of this website but she probably will never know. Now obviously her hair is not blonde. Now nearly every guest service gal had darker hair so there was nothing but trouble for me there. The main thing is you like your hair I love mine more and more each day. It is what keeps me going.
When I left the park it was 5:41 and the temperature said 93 degrees. Tomorrow is going to be another hot day so why not come all Day Deep River Waterpark is open from 10:00 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. tomorrow night. Come after 6:00 p.m. and admission is only $7.00. Hopefully, Ill see you there.
Today I had the most fun that I have had at Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark in a very long time. It was 9:57 a.m. and 79 degrees when I arrived I made the tour of the park. At the storm on the vortex and then the abyss was a lifeguard I so have missed this year. Haven't seen her much but I love her so. I think she is still 5'1" I know she is calendar worthy as her birthday is April 1st no fooling it was Alex. After the storm complex to the tube slide criss crossed on the body slides and then went on the tube slide 2 more times it is my favorite ride in the whole park and I could observe the current favorite to win the ever so coveted Female Rookie Lifeguard of the year award Rebecca. I don't know what she does different but when she is pushing on a slide ride I find it much more fun. The thought that came to my mind was this is doubling my pleasure. Maybe I just want to hear her talk since I like her voice so much. I asked her if her favorite color was blue because I somehow knew that I don't know how it got into my head. I was right as she said yeah
I then went over to the storm and rode each ride once more brining the stair count up to 792 and then I went around the river and rested before I started the tour again. I went on the each dragon slide once and then the count went up to 980 and then sporadically I went on the storm slides but there was no line at at the abyss so could you guess who was there. I asked her how many times I could go down this ride and she did not know so I had to find out today. I had already climbed over 1,000 stairs but we would see how many times Mark T could go down the abyss today. I really had some tough landings was flying everywhere. I think the deepest the line ever got was 3 people long. Rebecca said because the slide is to short. She is so good at pushing. If I could get my request for pushers on the storm for 4th of July everyone knows Mike would be my first choice. I'd take Rebecca, Tina and Amber and I think they could keep me moving then but we will see. I wish I could get her to talk more but maybe that is the joy of her voice. I can not remember when I had so much fun riding a slide.
In total I rode it 15x in a row basically non stop. I thanked her for pushing me down all those time. It was just so much fun with her pushing if only I could explain it. I took a breather by going on the tube slide and then went around the river. Mike was there he was going to be going to the top of the abyss later boy did that slide have some good pushers today that rotation would work for me on the 4th of July cause I can climb the stairs to the abyss anytime. It would be in over an hour unfortunately my sun tolerance isn't up to that yet. I did see 2 little girls buy some cotton candy. Yes. If only we can get more of you to buy it now. How bout we get a line over there. Cotton Candy available by lockers for only $2.00
I rode on the tube slide and there was Cori I made a mental note to spell that right today. Obviously she has not been at the park today or I would have seen her she had some very beautiful earrings of butterflies today. Apparently she thinks there is a Cori want to be with orange sandals and an orange bag named Molly or maybe I can get her to spell it Moli so there names would be similar or perhaps her middle name is Cori and she could be called by her middle name. I did not see her apparently she has brown hair not blonde and blondes have more fun which is why in the summer I go blonde. Of course alot of people are under the impression that I only like blondes. "The Ever So Delightful Dana" well she is a little blonde haired girl which my sister points out. I think you would consider "The Totally Terrific Tina's" hair to be blonde. My early line favorite to win best hair with her classic ponytail Rebecca is blonde Ok but "The Cute Redhead" from it could be "The DAWN of a whole New Era" certainly isn't blonde so there I am not all about blondes.
I went on the storm at the cage was Alex boy was today my lucky day or what she was hot. Take that to mean what you will. Oh Alex doesn't have blonde hair and I absoultely love her. I tried to get her wet when I came down the curved dragon slide but I could not get far enough. She was going on break soon so she was going to get wet then. I wanted to see that but am sorry I missed that. I rode the abyss 3x couldn't get enough of that today or maybe I am just practicing for the 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July when the abyss better be my friend. Lauren was there she was not wearing a sweatshirt but she did have on a name tag and some sort of timepiece which I might consider a watch. In the end I climbed 2,412 stairs today not bad. The total for the year goes to 20,058 It was beautiful and while I certainly did not want to go in the sun all day I can not stay. I am up to about 3 hours these days. Only have like 2 weeks to make it however long it takes to climb 4,000 stairs.
It was 1:20 and 85 degrees when I left the park. The parking lot was filling up nicely. Good crowd on hand and some people waiting to take advantage of the $2.00 discount after 2:00 p.m. This was the most fun I have had in a long time so why don't you come out and have some fun too at Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. I don't know when I'll be back but I will be eventually and I'll see you there.
Hooray for maintenance people that is just something I had to say today about the maintenance staff at Deep River Waterpark. If you read the local papers at the end of last summer you know that the maintenance at Deep River Waterpark in 2002 was much maligned. I read about it and I saw first hand which is the reason I left Deep River Waterpark and it was the 1st time in 8 years that I was not there on Labor Day. However one should forgive and forget give them another chance. Each day I have been at the park this year there have been several maintenance people scouring the park and keeping it clean. Today was a busier day and I have nothing but good things to say about the cleanliness of Deep River Waterpark. Why don't you come out and see for yourself?
It was 10:10 a.m. and 72 degrees when I arrived at the park. I wished for a date with "The Ever So Delightful Dana" because I wish when I see a clock and the hours and the minutes are the same. I started off with the tour of the park. I must have been rusty as it was a little tough though. When I got to the body slides I had to criss cross because the enclosed slide had a shorter line. Can I work Siobhan into the storyline today. She was at the top of the slides so I think I just did if I only spelled her name right that would be great. Around the river I went and Mike was at the wave pool river. He said I should go in the pool because good guards like himself, Jamie, Jeff and Tina.
Of course I could just imagine him and "The Totally Terrific Tina" making googlie eyes at one another as they stood across from one another at the wave pool admiring one another's physical attributes. Why must I be tortured so. After the river I took another tour around the park and another ride around the lazy river. I then went on my favorite ride of them all the tube slide. I actually rode it 3 times this time because the lifeguard was deemed by me to be "lineworthy" perhaps I should make a list of who I consider "lineworthy" you never know maybe I will maybe I won't. This guard is the latest contender to be the female rookie lifeguard of the year. I admired her as the storm attendant the other day and today she kept this line moving very well. I also admit I love the classic ponytail. Her name is Rebecca well that is what her name tag says. For the first time I heard her speak she said it was going to be a long day and it was only around noon. She said she got off at 6:30 so she had a lot more to go. When I heard her voice I thought it was the best voice I have heard since "America's Sweetheart and Mine" Kristen :) what year was that 2000 I think. I had so much fun on the slide.
Next I went to my favorite storm slide which is the cyclone. I rode it 5x in a row and if you don't believe me you can ask Christine she is very friendly and I seem to see her alot. I then to take a break went on each of the dragon slides before returning to the storm where in no semblence of order I rode each slide 2x making the stair count 2,048 for the day and 17,646 for the year. 2,048 is a lot of stairs but I wonder will I be able to climb 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July today these were very easy. I got the energy when I went on the tube slide and it was such a beautiful day for stair climbing.
On my exit I heard they had sold 4 cotton candy but I did not see anyone with cotton candy they said they had just sold one. My vision is corrected to 20/20 with my glasses on and I scanned the area and did not see anyone with cotton candy they went and looked and no one was found. I am asking you to please buy some cotton candy when you are at Deep River Waterpark it is only $2.00 located near the lockers you can usually see the sign that says Shaved Ice on the ground near by. I want someone to buy some cotton candy and hopefully soon
I left the park at 1:11 p.m. it was 80 degrees I wished that my earlier wish would come true. I return tomorrow around 10:00 a.m. because that is what time the park opens. It is now open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily after tomorrow I don't know when I will be back as for the last 3 weeks in addition to my job as Assistant Controller of Tranzact Technologies Inc I have served as the Interim Human Resource specialist and this was my second stint this year last time lasted until the end of March and was like 6 weeks. Hopefully, I can get this new person up to speed and regain a more predictable schedule. For those of you that follow Mark T it is a day you'd never thought you'd see but by popular demand on Friday June 27 (weather permitting) Mark T returns to Joliet's Splash Station around 4:00 or so. I'll report from there for you. The reason for that is because on Friday I work later and there is no way I could get to Deep River Waterpark before they close at 6:00 from where I work. However Joliet's Splash Station is open from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. daily so it will make a good warm up one week in advance of 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July.
Today Summer has begun so come to Deep River Waterpark and have a splashtastic time. I'll see you there.
Please do not splash the patrons as they may have come to the waterpark without the intention of getting wet. It was 1:16 p.m. and 88 warm degrees when I returned to Deep River Waterpark. A crowd was on hand. Not to large but at least a good size perhaps 3/4 of the main parking lot was full. I started on the tour of the park from the curved Dragon to the storm complex where was my sister today because there at the cyclone was Siobhan she does exisit. Seems to be at the cyclone alot I notice.
I went to my favorite rid the tube slide and there as the attendant was "The Totally Terrific Tina" luckily I did not tell her that her nails looked nice because she said they looked ugly. They were bright and shiny seemed to be a purplish color. I think she likes purple see how I pick up on these things. Apparently her and Mike were both at the top of the storm yesterday during the day. I do not know what they were doing I was told "pushing people down the storm" Obviously this is just another attempt to make me jealous which certainly is working. Tina had some sunburned shoulders whats with that everyone should use sunscreen.
At the top of the storm there was oh I'll think of her name darker hair not blonde shorter I think she has a brother named Patrick. Very nice although wasn't her navel pierced before? There was a bit of a line at the tube slide after I rode that I went on the open body slide and the body slides got a long line so I switched to my favorite ride the tube slide because I deem the tube slide line worthy especially with Amber I think that is her name at the top. She is a line worthy lifeguard any ride she is at the top of is worth waiting for because she is so friendly
I then went around the river for awhile. It was then back to the dragon wow were there some dragon bites today on that steep slide. I took the tour of the storm once more. With the stair count up to 1,030 I headed to the river once again. You know they sell cotton candy for $2.00 near the lockers and before the season ends I want to see someone buy some cotton candy. Yes I like cotton candy but I am only willing to pay a $1.00 and I have to have it just on a stick. I don't want it in a bag. Maybe they will have a coupon at http://www.deepriverwaterpark.com
I went on the curved dragon once and then went on the storm went on the cyclone 2x this time it was total of 4x everyone knows the cyclone is my favorite storm slide. Now which guard can I get to ride the slide with Mark T this year hmm didn't the "Totally Terrific Tina" tell me she would but sometimes its to cold, sometimes its to hot, sometimes she can't mess up her hair. Will this finally be the year? I doubt it. I have to say the storm attendant was the best I have ever seen I was so impressed how she handled all the tubes coming in. She seemed to just constantly be in motion. From what I could read her name was Rebecca I could have just watched that for 30 minutes. I don't think I could have kept up with that though. What a fantastic job. I liked her hair to now that is a classic ponytail. I believe she had her navel pierced so you have got to love that.
I went on the curved dragon for my last ride. I like to show I can still finish with the same ride I start it isn't easy to end with the dragon all the time but soon the 4th of JUly will be here and once again I will try and see if I can climb 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July. It is on a Friday this year so that may really present a challenge but we will see. As I left the park it was begining to rain. When I was in the parking lot at the light I saw some bright ligthening and wow what thunder. It was 3:51 and 82 degrees. The stair count today 1,380 and for the year 15,598
Deep River Waterpark is now open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Daily come on out and have some fun because now is the time. I don't return until June 21 which I believe is the longest day of the year and the start of summer. Since I can't bring the park to you you should go there. Don't forget to watch the series premiere of MONK Friday June 20, 2003 at 9:00 p.m. central time on the USA Network. The official start of summer is coming and there is no better way to prepare than to come to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. I'll see you there.
It was 6:36 p.m. and 80 degrees when I returned for the 2cnd day in a row and the 2cnd Tubin Tuesday of the year at Indianas Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. I began the day over at the dragon. It was great to see Emily. She makes me happy but not the same sort of happy that the Ever So Delightful Dana provides. Of course one had to be concerned about where were Emilys shoes or sandals or something as she was just barefoot. In food services you never see that. I went on the dragon a total of 5x because I still can even though on these Tuesday nights I realize I am not as young as I used to be and there isnt much left in me. Of course I still say I can climb more stairs on these slides than anyone.
I took the tour of the storm and then went on my favorite ride the tube slide followed by the body slides. At least tonight there were actually tubes in the lazy river so could get some rest. The Calumet Astronomical society had a telescope set up by Group sales you could look at the sun. I guess you have to quote those lottery commercials and say Fun for Some
When I got out of the river I was joined by my very own sister who really wanted to see Siobhan because she doesnt believe there is a girl with that name and she cant believe she was blonde and I guess she has blue eyes I dont know though. Unfortunately, that could not be arranged this evening and who knows if my sister and I will ever together again appear at Deep River Waterpark. For those of you who track how many times I use each word on this site you might consider doing something else. However Siobhan will probably be up there because maybe one day Ill actually spell it right. Maybe that is tonight. I went on the dragon each slide once. The steep slide is really rough these days. I dont know what happen but dragon bites were common when riding that slide.
While I complimented? (or more realistically gave a hard time) to Emily about stacking the tubes to prevent Chaos at the Cage I got my sister to go on the storm with me. Of course that was a lot for her. I dont know why people say she looks like The Totally Terrific Tina. Have they ever seen them side by side. Oh for you word counters I bet The Totally Terrific Tina is a phrase up there along with The Ever So Delightful Dana and just maybe It could be the Dawn of a whole new Era Have I used that yet this year?
The stair count was 1,164 for the day making it 14,218 for the year. Tomorrow I am actually taking the vacation day I have scheduled off so at some time during the day I will make my way to Indianas Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark. It will be sometime between 10 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. I hope because those are the hours of operation during the summer. Come on out and have some fun. Ill see you there.
Tonight in the world of Mark T. everything is as good as can be as I got to see the "Ever So Delightful Dana" and boy does that girl make me happy. She is so pretty. She is about the only one who can give the "Totally Terrific Tina" competetion as the girl I'd most like to date. Enought about that though lets get on to today's show. It was 2:47 p.m. the temperature was 77 degrees there actually were some cars in the lot when I finally returned to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course.
I took the tour as I like to do. The lifeguard at the top of the dragon really amused me she had nice sandals though. She was cold because she was wet from going swimming to cool off. I can't make this stuff up folks. I go from the curved dragon slide to the enclosed body slide with every ride in between. It was capped off by 2 laps around the Lazy River. That Kristen sure has some white teeth I like that. She said it was because she drinks no coffee ok I can do that but no pop either got me there. Mountain Dew's Live Wire is only available in the summer of 2003. How can you not drink a pop that is only available for one summer. I mean aren't there some of you that travel around the country looking for Mr. Pibb as opposed to this Pibb Extra. Bring back Mr. Pibb oh wait that is a coke product and at Deep River Waterpark there are pepsi products but we want Mr. Pibb brought back to the region anyway.
Corey's brother is now a lifeguard he has big hair. I did not see him. Her hair was darker because of winter I know the problem. Very nice ponytail braided I like that don't we all secretly want Corey to have the best hair in 2003? We have to wait and see. I think she married that big guy who I met last year I don't know when but when I asked her how the wedding was she said good. The bag is back for those of you in the know. I started around again and then just went on the storm.
My last ride was the abyss and the guard asked me if that slide was any fun. It is no tube slide or the best slide on the storm which is obviously the cyclone despite all you vortex fans. She had never been on it since it just goes straight down. I said since I did not mind her I would go on it. I read her name tag I am sure it said Maren hmm did someone put the wrong letter in front or is that really her name? It looks like I may have trouble spelling names this year can you believe this one very nice gal who is already in contention to be the 2003 Female Rookie Lifeguard of the year is name Siobhan? I put that in so I can practice. I feel like I should be a kid in grade school and get out the lined paper and write her name 100 times so I can learn how to spell it. In the end the stair count was 1,020 not bad for the day because hopefully most of the week I will play.
The total for the year 13,054. It's been years since I missed a Tubin Tuesday so hopefully tomorrow night I'll be there they are from 6:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. admission only $7.00. Should I bring back the Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Tooooooooooooosday. Maybe I will just to see but Erik will not be there cause he has a job on an ambulance and he is like the number one customer how we love to remember all those times he jumped in the wave pool on what some may consider chilly Tuesday nights now that brings back memories. Deep River waterpark opens at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow and you can stay all day until 9:30 if you please so come on out and have some fun. I'll see you there.
Make sure to catch the series Premiere of Monk next Friday June 20, 2003 at 9:00 p.m. central time on the USA network. It was 10:02 and 67 degrees when I finally returned to Deep River Waterpark. Everyone is a critic and to me that is ok as long as you compliment as well if service is good. Today I have to say that all the folks in season passes were smiling and seemed as happy as could be. The bag was checked asked nicely then when she couldn't figure out how to open it even asked very politely
I took the tour of the park first begining at the curved dragon slide and going around I saw the Totally Terrific Tina with her sleeves rolled up at the bottom of the cyclone. I don't like when she does that. I went through that complex to my favorite the tube slide and to the body slides. I saw Hopkins was at wave pool river I did not form an opinon on what seemed to be a lime green type of sandal. Eventuarlly I went on the tour again and spent more time on the storm this time. The Totally Terrific Tina was at the abyss now and she was wearing a sweatshirt much to the puzzlement of the whole crowd. I do not know what was wrong with her hair. Everyone knows its all about the hair and this was in an alleged ponytail it looked more like a knot. I told her that I don't understand why someone with such beautiful hair would wear it like that. At least the girl on the cyclone had nice hair and a proper ponytail. I can't spell her name yet even though she showed me her name tag and said that is how you spell it. You know I have 3 candidates for the female rookie lifeguard of the year. It might help if I knew all their names. I know one
I still do not know why The totally terrific Tina was wearing a sweathshirt bewildering indeed. I then went to the tube slide once and then around the river I would go. It was good to see Jamie and let her know how awful The totally Terrific Tina's hair looked and hope she would inform her as well. Apparently there was a good group of guards at the wave pool with herself and Mike. Can you believe this Tina and Mike as the dagger goes into my heart I guess I better not get that shirt made up with the 2 of them saying lifeguards of the year. (Shake your head here)
There may be a higher sunscreen than SPF 70 which is what I use she Jaimie may have seen it at something called Ulta3 which is apparently a beauty type supply store which I would be embarassed to set foot in. My hair is naturually beautiful the only chemicals in it are those frome the pool. There was a blast from the past her name was Kristen but while I certainly could picture her at various stations throughout the park I don't recall her storyline from 2001 as she was not there last year. I went through like every Kristen I knew dating back to Kristen of Kelly and Kristen the twins. Kristen K, America's Sweetheart and mine Kristen :) but only could see her image. She is 5'10" so I am sure I never had a crush on her because for a girl who is tall I'd never fall except for the Citibank Concierge Rachel Hall. Most tall people especially females frighten me. I like 5'6" or shorter and since I am 5'9" that is the limit. Perhaps I will have to read the notes from then. Her navel was pierced look very nice and ended up having me ride the abyss several times in a row until I have to admit I am very old and apparently forgetful. The stair count for today 2,020 making 12,034 stairs climbed this summer. Why not take Dad to Deep River Waterpark tomorrow they are open from 10:00 a.m until 6:00 p.m. I am estimating time of arrival around 1:00 or so. Want to let dad sleep in well be nice and come after 2:00 p.m. when you can save $2.00 of the regular admission price. Deep River Waterpark is now open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily. I'll see you there
As most of you know I am in no way associated with Deep River Waterpark yet day after day year after year I write so that you will come on out. Now I have seen many things at the park in 9 years and most I can forgive and forget and I ask you to do the same and come back out. One thing that is difficult for me to forgive however is rudeness by employees and in 9 years of being at Deep River Waterpark a lot I can say that I never have been treated as rudely as I was on this first Tubing Tuesday. At the season pass entrance the gal barked out open your bag made me feel like a common criminal what is next do you need my finger prints. I understand the can I please check your bag but I thought this was ridiculous.
If it stopped there maybe that would have been ok but after I toured the park going on every ride all I wanted to do was go in the Lazy River and I walked from the body slide by the entrance there and there were no tubes floating along so I went through the family pool and tubes were stacked up not one floating around as far as the eye could see and I said to lifeguard there will you please throw me one of those tubes and he replied "No man I can't" Apparently that woulod have required him to get up off the chair. If there was a single tube even floating around I would wait for it but there was not. I guess it would be to tough to actually have to watch someone go around an attraction at the waterpark. I guess the key is can we make sure nothing gets used. It made me extremely angry but and I did feel like leaving this park and never returning but then I would not climb a 1,000 stairs instead I just start around the park again. A lot of people must not realize I can not hear all that well and rely on lip reading but I can not also see so who knows what some people were saying.
At least the gal at the Dragon and then Dustin and that girl that was at the abyss were nice or I would have completely had it with Deep River Waterpark. In the end I did get to go around the river because that guy was gone it just wasn't when I would have liked to. I did manage to climb 1,536 stairs the friendly group of lifeguards was at the top of the storm. For the year the stair count goes over 10,000 to 10,014. When will I return I don't know. I hope that you will go to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course and I certainly hope they treat you better than they treated me. Deep River Waterpark is now open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. I'll see you there.
Never fear Dustin is here again this year. There isn't much that stays the same at Deep River Waterpark so when something does one must appreciate it and it was so great to see Dustin back as a lifeguard for his 9th season that is how many seasons Deep River Watepark has been open. Today it was 10:32 and 66 degrees when I arrived at the park. The wind was blowing which makes it tough on the hair but the sun was shining.
I toured the park from the dragon to the body slides to the river for rest. Allergies did plague me with the watery itchy eyes could barely see today and was not aided in the Lazy River with numerous flower petals blowing at me but they do have some very nice looking flowers this year so if you do not want to swim just look at the landscaping just make sure you come. If I were making an estimate I would guess there were maybe 20 people in attendance today. I did not see the cotton candy out today which was out yesterday where the shaved ice use to be but that machine always broke. It was $2.00 a bag of cotton candy. If you like cotton candy buy some. I always hope the hot soft pretzel cart will return it seldom does but that does get busy.
I toured the park 2x today it was good to see Lauren but she was not wearing her sweatshirt and that upsets me because even when it is like 90 degrees in the shade I feel she should wear it. Eventually she pulled it out of the bag I did feel it and it did not feel like it would be comfortable to wear but she finally put it on and all was right with the world. For my last ride today I book ended it going on the 1st ride the curved slide of the dragon. The stair count 1,310. The total for the year 8,478. I have no idea how many I will try to climb this season as I do not know exactly how often I can be at the park this summer or in these cases how often it will be open. Can anyone tell me if it has been open until 6:00 p.m. even once this year. That is what time it is scheduled to be open too except this Tuesday when scheduled to be open until 9:30 p.m.
The day I am preparing for is the 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July. I need to get in form to be able to do that and with it on a Friday it may prove difficult but we will see. I left the park at 12:46 p.m. the temperature was 70 degrees. Hopefully, I will be back sometime during the week best chance seems Tuesdays for Tubin Tuesday which starts at 6:00 maybe 6:30 admission only $7.00. I'll be there before 6:00 I think so come on out and have a splashtastic time. I'll see you there.
Take a picture it lasts longer. Today I arrived at Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course at 9:45 a.m. the temperature was 69 degrees. The sun was actually shining. The park opens at 10:00 a.m. and is now open everyday until 6:00 p.m. The camera was working so had a picture taken for the season pass thank goodness as that paper sure gets wet. Very nice looking pass and hopefully you have gotten yours if not why not call today. If you had one you would know the number is 1-800-928-7275. They can be visited online at the official website http://www.deepriverwaterpark.com
On Wednesday June 4, 2003 my older sister gave birth to a baby boy name Matthew Thomas so I guess that now makes me uncle Mark T. I took the tour of the park today starting at the dragon and something was different with the steep slide don't know what but it did not ride as smooth as it did on Memorial Day later in the day heard from numerous kids with the dragon bites. At one time I was in a severe amount of pain from riding it so took a few minutes to get out of the slide yet it I would continue to ride. The curved slide is running very smoothly. I saw the Totally Terrific Tina I like her she had her sleeves rolled up I do not know about that. Next, over to the storm then whitewater where I have to admit I am getting to old for this. One can only hope not true but hey what can I do I believe only have 2 seasons left in me so probably never will get to 1 million stairs climbed. I then went on the body slides followed by the Lazy River where everyone wanted to know where is Emily?
At this time of year I can not take much sun even with the SPF 70 need a sun tolerance it is rough. I started the tour around the park again and the Totally terrific Tina was still at the bottom of the dragon. At least she moved. This year at least name tags seem to be prevaliant maybe I will learn some names and you will know who is who. On the 3rd time around the park I got this boost of energy so doubled it up on the storm and then actually went on the dragon 4x in a row and was just having fun. What a beautiful day. My last ride was my favorite white water the stair count for the day 2,070 making it 7,168 stairs climbed in 2003. That is not bad for 4 days you should come on out.
Since I went to church with my nephew this evening (can you believe my sister used my air hockey table as a changing table) I should be at the park around 10:00 a.m. or so tomorrow morning. If you can't get there that early come later in the day. Or if you want to wait to come late how about when Tubin Tuesdays start on June 10 which is just days away it either is at 6:00 or 6:30 when the admission goes to $7.00 if anyone knows what time let me know. The park is open until 9:30 then and while it may not be this week as unforseen circumstances have come up. I am scheduled to appear on Wednesday's in the summer because there is nothing like going to a Tubin Tuesday and coming back Wednesday morning. Choose a day or several and come out to Deep River Waterpark. I'll see you there.
It was 10:13 and 66 degrees the sun was shining as I returned to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark. I really like those new hand towel dispensers in the washrooms that are motion activated. There were 2,440 stairs left to go and when I got to 2,100 I thought that I might be done. Heaven knows I am not as young as I used to be. Didn't the Sensational Sasha just have a birthday my calendar is at work but if I were guessing I'd go with May 24. So Happy Birthday. I did go on every ride in the park excluding the wave pool and since I am very impressed by how smooth the dragon is riding especially the curved slide I made it my last ride.
The stair count 2,538 and that makes 5,098 stairs climbed this Memorial Day weekend so I win the Memorial Day 5,000. You can win by getting a season pass they are discounted until I return on Saturday May 31 and now they estimate you will not have to take your picture until mid June. Therefore buy one work on your tan and you will look good for the picture. You don't want to miss this. Deep River Waterpark is now open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily (weather permitting) I return once more in May and the I will start to play coming in June weather permitting join me Mark T at Deep River Waterpark all day Wednesday well as long as the sun or weather permits me to be there. Maybe they will let me hang in Milo's. The fun will really begin on June 7 when we will see I might be at Deep River Waterpark 5 days a week Sat-Wed but we will see. Mark your calendar for June 10 as Tubin Tuesdays begin then the park will be open until 9:30 p.m. and admission at 6:00 or 6:30 I never know will only be $7.00. Summer has begun so come out and have some fun at Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deepr River Waterpark of course. I'll see you there.
It was 10:48 and 63 degrees when I returned to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. There wasn't a car in the customer lot. I did not see anyone in the park that did not work there. Come on out folks Deep River Waterpark is now open. I climbed a total of 1,360 stairs today making the total for the year 2,560 and leaving me 2,440 away from the 5,000 Memorial Day weekend goal. Hopefully there are 2 days left to try but we will see. They closed the park behind me. It was 62 degrees then and 12:28 p.m. when I left. If the park closes at that time tomorrow I will not be there. Hopefully they will have a recording if it does. So in order to keep it open you need to come on out and try the rides. There are no lines. Weather permitting I should be there around 1:00 or so but I really don't know. Hopefully, I wont have to climb 2,440 stairs in one day this early but if it comes to that so be it. Deep River Waterpark is now open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Come on out. I'll see you there.
For the 1st time since that fateful day in August 2002 it was the return of you know who to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. The park was very clean. I was surprised they were open but there were a few buses. I think I was the only other patron. Temperature when I arrived 55 degrees 10:53 a.m. When I left at 12:37 p.m. it was 57 degree according to the sign. Contrary to the rumor I was not on my way to Joliet to open up Splash Station. Maybe next year as 2004 it scheduled to be the last year for Mark T. waterparking. In the Memorial Day 5,000 today I climbed 1,200 stairs leaving 3 days (hopefully) to climb 3,800 stairs. I rode every ride in the park at least once well except the wave pool. Will Deep River Waterpark Daily Return this year. I don't know. All I know is Deep River Waterpark is now open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily and weather permitting tomorrow I'll see you there.
