This day used to be one of the most exciting days in my life and every year I wanted to out do myself as I hoped with reckless abandon just once the Lovely Christina would just have dinner with me but I suppose it is not meant to me. Last year it became one of the most depressing days of my life as I realize that I am a sad lonely guy waiting to die and that’s all there is for me. I mean there must be something terribly wrong with me if after years of pursuit I could never ever get one chance with the lovely Christina. Luckily for me “The Dawn of a Whole New Era” storyline to the bitterness off as I managed not only to steal a smile from the cute red head last night but also a wave so it was a very nice night for me
I began my day on the dragon. First I went on the steep slide and then I went on the curved slide and quickly the stair count was up to 188 but I did not feel all that great as I had some difficulty breathing so I went to something easier the storm. I started off at the vortex and worked my way over to the Storm where I am told by Misty that I nearly knocked out the Totally Terrific Tina who was doing something with youngsters in the water. Misty told me that Tina’s real name is Valentina I don’t know about that but Jimmy the Cuz probably does. I know she has a sister Val maybe they split there names up when people said here are Val and Tina and then one took each half. Anyway since I like alliteration I will call her Tina and seeing her makes me Totally Terrific.
I went on the storm a total of 7x in a row making the stair count 636. I then went over to the dragon. I felt better climbing this time. I went on the steep slide twice and then on the curved slide once which made the stair count 918. I stopped at the cyclone to ride it once the stair count moved to 982 and then I made my way to whitewater run. It is my favorite ride in the whole park. I don’t get to ride it much on these hot days. There was a new male lifeguard up there I don’t think his name is Tommy but he was outfitted by Tommy Hilfanger. The line moved rather quickly and everyone rode properly with the handles in the front of the tube. I appreciated the efficient running of the slide and was able to ride it 3x today which made me happy so good job to that guy. I really should learn some names perhaps.
The stair count was at 1,114. Next, I went to the dragon and I rode it 4x in a row making the stair count 1,490. I went on the steep slide all 4x because there wasn’t much of a line at that it seemed most people were going on the curved one. After that I went on the abyss just once Jeff had the cage under control and that is what I like to see a nice line system get in this line if you want a single tube and in that line for a double.
Then I decided to go into the river and I went around it 1.5 times. I saw Mike at wave pool river. He said it was hot today and my forecast say it is only going to get hotter which is going to make it extremely difficult for me to climb 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July but I will try and see in that pursuit I have tried the past two years in 2000 on a Tubin Tuesday I failed in my quest then in 2001 victory was mine what will be the result in 2002. Mike wanted to know if he was going to repeat as the male lifeguard of the year and most likely he will at least at this point in time although you never know I might swerve and go with Jeff or go with Jason although my sister feels he snubbed her so she won’t approve but he wasn’t feeling all that well. We have to wait and see.
In the Food and Beverage area it looks like James has a clear cut lead as the lead. However Chase can still chase him down and don’t forget about Jonathan and Joneigh who returned this year. It’s too early to decide. In the Female food and beverage will the love be in the air and will Amanda win or will Emily be a shoe in?
Once I got some rest I went to back to the abyss and there I was so happy to see the Oh so beautiful Allison. She was good today when I reached her slide the stair count was 1,618 and she asked if we were happy with that what is this we I’d love to be a we with Allison because she is extremely beautiful. I thought she was going to be one and done last year but it is such a pleasant surprise to see her back again and since she was there and is so nice to see at least to me I just kept going on the abyss and I felt really happy about it. I don’t recall when Allison’s birthday is but I know on my calendar at work it is certainly marked because I absolutely love seeing Allison. If I were superficial which I think I have admitted I am most people would describe Allison as exactly my type. Will beauty prevail and will I name Allison the 2002 female lifeguard of the year or will the preseason favorite Tina claim that prize or will I simply go with the current leading candidate Ashley. It seems to me the 2002 female lifeguard of the year competition is going to be the toughest ever
I asked Allison how much longer she would be up there she looked at her watch which she was wearing on her suit I just love that and said 10-15 more minutes so I made it one more time up the slide and with that I made the stair count 1,874. I told Allison I hope she works again because I sure had fun today like the most fun I have had all year and on the abyss how about that. I put myself right where I wanted to be at 32,000 stairs climbed so far this summer leaving me 76,000 stairs to go to reach my 108,000 stair goal. I told you season number 8 was going to be great and today for me was a great day. Basically book ended by beauty got to like that. I left the park very happily at 12:53 p.m. the temperature was 87 degrees.
When I saw Melissa from group sales on the way out she asked how I was and for once I was actually great. If you have a group event be sure to say hi to Melissa. If she is working on Wednesday July 17 at night I will stop by myself. You too can have a great time at Indiana’s Premiere Waterpark, Deep River Waterpark of course it is now open from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. so come on out and have a splashtastic time.
