It was 78 degrees at 10:30 a.m. when your host returned to Deep River Waterpark. I counted 12 other cars in the main parking lot. When I entered the park I saw James has it ever been mentioned that after being named the 2001 Male Food and Beverage Worker of the year he became a lead food and beverage person in the year 2002? Today as he noticed I was sporting a US 30 Surf Shop original shirt. I still dont know if I can pull off this tie-dye look but we will see. James said it was a nice shirt and I told him that I wished I could say the same about his but I really do not like them but you should come out and see these flashy shirts and form your opinion.

Lauren was there at the entrance today but it was not her first day. She said it was yesterday but she came later in the day because she had to take The SAT in the morning. Over at the guest services the Lindseys had already had a couple of people ask where the lockers were and had to open up the bathrooms. They were often to a flying start there. Hopefully business would improve. The suggestion box was not out yet because I wanted to put in get rid of these shirts before you blind someone.

It was onward and upward today I started out on the dragon which is where I often start. Once again today there wasnt a line to be found. On my way there Jaime told me to go in the wave pool since she never gets to see me and I told her there is no way on earth that is happening. Not that the wave pool isnt a fine attraction that I hope you all enjoy but you will not see me there. Once I believe I rode the dragon 33x in a row but that was toward the end of the season. Today I went on the steep slide 10x in a row and with 94 stairs that made a very quick 940 stairs.

It certainly was fun I would have went more but was out of breath I mean this is just my 4th day at the park so have to build up to some things. I slowly walked to the Lazy River. Jessica was there as she is back for another go around but this is not Jessica K who seeing makes my day. Of course Jessica K is not a lifeguard she is The Cashier I hold Dear and if for some bizarre reason you are interested in that after the Lovely Christina nearly destroyed me it was a terrible time but along came Jessica K who I have had a crush on for over a year.(but she will never know saw what that got me) One day I know from my life she will go away but at least for now she finally made Mark T. ok.

I went around the river twice. It was nice. I then went over to the storm and as you may recall from last year there were sensational and divine days and before that I certainly did get to feel some kind of wonderful. Through it all people have often speculated about who Mark T. was referring to and the most popular guess was always well her name ends with an a and it has a T in it and that leads to Tina. Since Tina turned 21 on April 29, 2002 which is marked on my calendar at work I think it is time to go with complete alliteration in two thousand two hopefully I will have many Totally Terrific days when I get to see my favorite lifeguard of them all who is in her 4th year as a lifeguard and 5th year overall as she started out at the original Milos Tina.

It was so great to see Tina back but she was off last weekend because she had worked earlier. She might be at the park as much as me and this year we will see can I finally get Tina to ride a slide ride with me. Anyway she wanted to know if I had met any knew guards and I told her only one and that is Kristen who Tina had went over and met. She was of the opinion she seemed nice. At least talking to Tina gave me a break from this constant stair climbing. I was able to go on my normal pattern starting with the vortex today. It went like this vortex, abyss, cyclone, cyclone, abyss, vortex, vortex, abyss, cyclone and cyclone. This made the stair count 1,580

It was now time for Mark walks through the Park They still had not had much business over at guest services. Kara and Kim were at that Captain someones Pizza Palace. They at least had different pizzas there today which they told me was good but I was not in the market for pizza although you should stop by and give it a try. It is located near the front of the park. I had not met Bobby but I was told he was working today so I told Kara one day when she is on break come and walk with me and we will find him. I dont know many names because no one in the sand is wearing a nametag and I dont have the introduction committee going around.

Well Scuba came by and for some reason Kara had to go why I do not know but there was quite a narrow gap between Kim and Kara that he had to slide through. I continued my walk through the park. On the way I got a high five from Ashley. Then I saw Erik who is hiding out in the Health Services although my sister will not believe that he could be at Deep River Waterpark. I am sure that anyone who knows Erik knows there is no way I could mistake him for anyone else. Finally I got to see Emily she was working in the taco and nacho where they had sold 2 thats right 2 nacho Supremes and that is it. Sales were lackluster although there were not that many people in the park. I am sure tacos and nachos and what have you are fine they just are not for me. So Emily escorted me over to the Hot Dog. Did you know that Laura who was named the 2001 Food and Beverage Girl of the year moved over to the main office and now works in auditing? Once again showing how receiving an award from Mark T. enhances ones career.

In Hot Dog were people I had never seen before and they were named Misty but no relation to Misty the lifeguard and Carolyn. It was not there first day. Since Emily told me that she put on the Italian beef for me I had to have that so you can credit her with that sale. Of course I thought I would be the only one buying anything today. They have some twister cups for $5.00 and then you can get a refill for $1.40 until Emily explained it to me I thought this is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. Now I get it. It is a rather large container and it has a divider and two straws so you can get 2 different drinks for example, a root beer and a Pepsi. This would be great if you had 2 kids that did not like the same thing. Of course I do not have any kids as I am not married and I am not thinking the prospects looking very good on that horizon. They tell me that a yard tree is similar. It is $3.50 but no one could tell me what one was which is pretty bad when you are trying to sell something. A refill was $1.10 on a yard tree. We guess it might be smaller and maybe Ill buy one if I can get Emily to sell it to me.

Apparently, there was some trouble getting the one single bun they had for an Italian beef out of the bag. I watched two people try and get it out and then it went straight to the floor. They tell me that this other type of bun they had was better I really do not know about that. I also had a root beer and some pretzels. They allowed me to go into taco and nacho hey Ryan is back because if there is one thing I hate it is to eat alone I do it a lot but that doesnt mean I like to. Sometimes I just dont eat so that I dont have to. Since I was in the taco and nacho this attracted a rush and business had finally picked up so I had to be on my way. With 1,580 stairs climbed today the count goes to 9,290 leaving me a mere 98,710 stairs away from my 108,000 stair goal

I called it a day at 1:23 p.m. The temperature was 71 degrees and the skies were gray. I return tomorrow around 4:00 p.m. I am guessing if weather, traffic and all other things allow. Summer is upon us and it sure isnt long so come on out to Deep River Waterpark which is now open from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily. Ill see you there.
