I continued to go up and down the storm rides eventually Dustin came to the cage but there was no chaos there today. After time 11 on the storm and broke the pattern and simply went on the vortex. Ashley was working up there and I was just amazed at how she was able to hold this towel around her, get in the water, and push a tube down. I really liked that. Plus I like the towel. I could not get enough of that. If I were selecting the Female Lifeguard of 2002 today she would win hands down. That girl can really run whitewater can do this neat trick with the towel, and I have actually seen her rescue a real person at the bottom of the cyclone this year. Plus everyone knows I love pierced navels so she gets bonus points for that and it doesn’t hurt that she is one of the best looking guards in the sand. If you don’t believe me then take a look Ashely’s on your right with the blonde hair and boy was Dustin a lucky guy in 2001 Of course the season is still young so you never know who will Mark T’s cherished female lifeguard of the year award in 2002.
The stair count very quickly got up to 1,430. After this I was a bit tired so I was on my way to the Lazy River. Jamie and Brittany were being fake leads today. Jamie guessed I was going to whitewater that wasn’t quite yet. Brittany knew where I was headed and around the river I went and I would run into them once again. They want gossip but I don’t have any other than the Kara likes Bobby the lifeguard. I don’t make things up. Oh and what is that Lauren likes Jeff. These are just things I hear. Oh and guys I know how you loved to look at those pictures of Laura the 2001 food and beverage girl of the year. She is now in auditing and she is available just FYI. If I hear anything else I am sure you will read it here just tell me. I got credit for hookups but if I were so good at that I’d hook myself up with “The Cashier I hold Dear” “Seeing Jessica K makes my day” Jessica K finally made Mark T. ok. She doesn’t work at Deep River Waterpark though and she is claustrophobic so she doesn’t like those black slides.
After the river I went on my favorite ride of them all and there was yet another Lauren. Today she was wearing a jacket and not a sweatshirt and this was very puzzling since we all know Lauren by the sweatshirt apparently she just moved a few feet from the bottom of the body slide to whitewater attendant. All the tubes were neatly stacked. I went on this slide 5x in a row making the stair count 1,650 and then it was time for “Mark walks through the park” Over at the surfside café there were all your favorites Jacqueline who is a cashier and Chase who was promoted to cook. I think that was Jonathan as well. Then a whole slew of people perhaps 15 or so who were at least all awake. The report says that they had sold a total of 3 items between 2 cashiers. Business was kind of slow but the good thing was if you wanted anything service was really fast.
I continued the walk around the park and now Emily has actually seen a yardtree. I offered to buy it sight unseen but apparently it is not for sale. There is only one yardtree in existence currently because the mold got moved somewhere else. Since Emily is now a college chick and she said it was nice that is good enough for me. She offered to go get it and show it to me I just couldn’t buy it but Jim’s door was closed so she could not show it to me. I’ll decide what to do with it when I actually have it. I mean I am a collector of Deep River Waterpark Memorabilia. Maybe I will bring it in to my office. It will just be nice to have. I know you all want one now they sell for $3.50 and refills are $1.10 but you can’t buy one before Mark T. however I am told that at the end of June finally the yardtrees should arrive and I don’t know how many of these they will have but I want every single one of you to go and buy one when they arrive and lets get these sold out quickly. Last year I called on you to buy stuffed bread and they went from selling none to being sold out. This year lets buy up all these yardtrees. I’ll let you know as soon as they arrive.
After my walk through the park, I went to the dragon and rode the steep slide twice it was nice. The stair count went to 1,838. I then rode each storm ride once which made the count go up to 2,030 and that isn’t bad but I wasn’t done yet. Isn’t it great to have Rebecca back for an 8th season? I think she should go for at least 10 a decade of service is something to shoot for and Rebecca asked me to shoot her if she was back again next year and I told her I will simply tell her I told you so just like I did last year. Sasha told me that Misty went over to the volleyball court and had a fun favor to ask me. I went over there and ended up having Misty hit me. I am just trying to figure out what it is about me that so many females like to hit me. It is not that I mind I just seem to have a propensity to be hit.
I continued on the storm 5 more times and then Reunited on her break with Emily it was a special appearance by Laura who is not in food and beverage this year but auditing. She had the scoop on the yardtree and had seen the only one in existence as well. Did anyone ever think that a yardtree would become such a highly sought after product this summer? It is good to see Laura and to have her as a special guest but I don’t think we can bill her as a very special guest. I mean for that you have to ride a slide with me. I mean if I shocked you all and showed up with the Lovely Christina that would be a very special guest. If I showed up with Jessica K she would be a very special guest. One has to watch the use of very in front of special. It is an honor to be a special guest in Mark T’s storyline.
Misty had to come and get me to go to whitewater. She was wearing a one piece suit today which was very perplexing because I have know Misty for years and have never ever seen her in a one piece suit until today. I haven’t seen Misty that much this year but she tells me she already put in 300 hours this summer. I am happy for her. My assignment go on whitewater and then when I hit the splash pool throw out this baby. No one told me the baby’s name so I didn’t get very attached to it. Mike went up to the top of whitewater with the baby so I would not have to carry it up there. Finally I see Mike at the top of whitewater and he hands me this baby dummy. I had to ride in a double tube because those are the rules if there are 2 people a double tube is required. Down the slide I went this baby’s suit kept falling down. At least it did not cry and wasn’t afraid. I hit the water and the baby flew and then Hopkins jumped in and rescued it. I don’t know if it was fun but it was different.
I continued to ride the slide pointing out this is another reason I do not have kids. Ashley the lead guard told me I had to be married first well I really don’t see that happening. One never knows but I have given up hope. Ashley wanted to know where my sister was and I never ever know as we do not reside in the same town. On June 29, 1999 to celebrate the Lovely Christina’s birthday I bought myself a house and to me it is absolutely perfect. When I moved in I started my dime collection with the hopes that it would go to the lovely Christina but why the dimes continue to shine and grow my hopes have been tarnished so I just keep collecting the dimes. Maybe someone will get them maybe they won’t. I haven’t broken into them yet so they give me a shimmer of hope.
I did see my sister this evening and she was disappointed that she missed this. It is not on videotape and we will not be putting pictures of this up. She wanted to know if I could do this every week now so she could see. I am pretty sure this is a one time only deal. I climbed a total of 2,570 stairs today making the total 18,910 for the year leaving 89,090 to reach my 108,000 stair goal. Tomorrow evening I host Father’s Day but before that I’ll be on my way to Indiana’s Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark which opens at 10 a.m. and remains open until 6:00 p.m for Fathers Day and every day for that matter. Come on out and celebrate. I’ll see you there.
