For the longest time scheduled this season Mark T was away from Indiana’s Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. Did you miss me? At 10:18 a.m. this morning with the temperature already at 81 degrees I finally returned. It was a shock to see such a small crowd on hand. It is such a beautiful day for a visit to the waterpark. Of course maybe many of you decided to save the $2.00 after 2:00 p.m. when the admission price drops from $14.00 to $12.00 or from $12.00 to $10.00 if you have proper Indiana id. Isn’t it great to be a hoosier the benefits are endless.

Today, I started off on the storm at the vortex and went in a nice smooth pattern. Had a little trouble with the climbing as have a cut on my right knee thanks to all this gardening I have been doing lately. It was great to see Kate and boy has the competition heated up in the Female Lifeguard of the year contest. Will Kate be able to defend her title? Will the favorite from the end of last season Tina who some people might jump to the conclusion is my favorite lifeguard. Now that Tina’s 21 we will have even more fun and she looks so great on this website. I have the picture framed close to my dime collection because I love to look at it. Will the early line favorites Lauren or Ashley take the title? Will another lifeguard come out of nowhere to win? I don’t know but it sure is going to be a battle this year.

I went on the storm rides a total of 10x in a row, which made the stair count 640. I then went to my favorite ride in the whole park white water run. I just love that ride. I went on it 3x in a row before going over to ride each body slide. They had the sign up that said no tubes required for body slides today. People were already confused as one would have suggested no tubes allowed on body slides so I am sure people will still bring up tubes on the body slides but be smart and don’t. The stairs are to narrow anyway. The stair count rose to 860. Once again there wasn’t a line to be found.

I went around the river cause I had to catch my breath as I was about to exit I saw Lauren who had something for me and it was a picture she had taken last year. She decided not to use it for the center of a dartboard, which is appreciated for yours truly. It would have gotten wet so I told her I would walk around to river 4 and get it and there I went. I believe I startled her when I came from behind. Did you hear the rumor about Lauren likes Jeff where on earth do these things get started? Lauren said Jeff was her best friend so she likes to tease him or was that simply just likes?

At least I did not look too bad in the picture. Lauren told me I could scan it but I do not have a scanner I work with cds and then I do all sorts of things with pictures. If you notice there are only a few pictures of me on this site because why on earth would you want to see me there are so many better looking people to see. Lauren noticed her pictures was not on the site but we will take care of that this summer when who wants to wager how many cameras I go through. Often I lose them to melting in the sun because I do not get all the pictures taken quickly. I will try to remedy that in 2002.

It was off to the dragon then. I went down the steep slide first and then went on the curved one and that meant I rode every slide in the park today. The curved one has been greatly improved and I am certain that is not just my imagination because last season when I gave it a try the back pain I suffered made me want to cry but today I had an even smoother ride then last time so good work to whoever fixed that.

I had one my 1,000 stair game as that was 1,048 stairs but I was not done. I went over to the storm and started at the vortex and simply went in a pattern. Sometime I get to into things and I was not able to stop myself. The plan was simple go on this a told of 8 times and end the day with 1,560 stairs which is a pretty good total at the beginning of the year. Before I knew it I had surpassed that. Cassie was at the cyclone and she wanted to know why I was just all right. I have no reason to be good, great, wonderful or anything today I am just all-right ant that at least is above ok. I wanted to know where all the people were but she did not know. One would think it would be extremely busy today but it was not the case as there was no wait at all.

By the time I knew it I had went on the storm 18x in a row sticking with the same pattern until the very end when I skipped the abyss and concluded with 2 final rides on the vortex. The one new guard whose name I had learned was working on that slide so one could say she has the advantage in being named the best female rookie lifeguard. Plus she is very pleasing to the eyes. As the park fills up I know you guys will be in her line. As the attendant during most of this was Kim it is to bad they don’t have that high chair over there because that would have made my day but at least the last ride was quite a beautiful one from the top to the attendant station. Mike was there but he did not seem to be working but had all week and was on whitewater. We will see if he can defend the crown, which will be difficult, if he is not working when I am at the park. Of course beginning one week from today Mark T comes to Deep River Waterpark 6 days a week (weather, traffic, and all other things permitting) I’ll be at the park every single day but Friday. Mike said that he probably would be working 6 days a week.

With 2,200 stairs climbed today I thought I’d be on my way. The stair count rose to 7,710 but leaves me still 100,290 stairs away from my 108,000 stair goal. I only climbed 100,000 stairs last year. Do you think I can make it? More of you should come out and play so I can extend my day at Deep River Waterpark. It goes really fast if there isn’t a line to be found. I left the park at 12:59 p.m. The temperature was 88 degrees and at least a crowd was beginning to develop. The park is located just 4.5 miles east of I-65 in beautiful Lake County Indiana. It is open from 10 a.m. until 6:00 pm. Daily. I return tomorrow probably around 10 a.m. so come on out and enjoy the park. You will be glad you did. I’ll see you there.
