4,000 stairs on the 4th or July in 2000 I made my first attempt on a Tubin Tuesday and I worked into the night and came up short. In 2001 I'd try again and if you remember it was a cooler day last year and victory would be mine. IN 2002 what would the story be. I arrived at approximately 9:55 a.m. and there was already quite a line this is the busiest I have seen it all year this earlier. I began the day at the dragon and as usual I did not fall off

I went on the steep slide 8x and the curved one twice but not in that order and quickly I was up to 940 stairs but a bit breathless so time to take it easy by going on the storm. Lauren was the storm attendant at this time and it is always good to see Lauren once again she was not wearing a sweatshirt. I managed to go up and down the storm a lot but the lines grew and grew and people kept coming in. At one point I nearly snubbed Sasha because there is no way unless you yell I can hear someone from behind me. When I was in 5th grade I failed a hearing test 3 times. I have learned to compensate by reading lips and this closed captioned television is just great. Apparently, she had said good morning and I just kept walking. It was nice to see Sasha. I managed to go on the storm 17x in a row but that was all I could do for the time. The stair count went up to 2,028 and this was at about 12:15.

I decided to break for lunch I stopped by Lemonade and Kara was there she said Bobby was at the river earlier I just missed him. If I were to see him I could tell him to stop by for a lemonade or an ice water that seemed to be all they had as shaved ice was broke, as is hot pretzels I don't know what the story was on Dippin Dots but that cart wasn't open today it seems that carts have gone into disarray but at least chills were conducting business. I went to the the cafe and Jonathan took my order there was a sign that said place order here. I had some chicken bites they were a bit crunchy so I bet Chase was not cooking. This 16 ounce cup seemed very small compared to what they usually give maybe that was because of the holiday. Since they do not have rootbeer at the cafe I stopped by Captain Fun's Pizza.

Ann and Kim told me before that the rush was around noon the other day. Of course today they say as soon as I left the other day the rush came so here it was afternoon and I did not see that big of rush I had a large rootbeer. Yardtrees are available in Pizza but I already have one which I was not traveling with today. There did not seem to be a rush in pizza I am told that today it would probably be around 2:00 or so. After lunch I went on the storm and managed to go on it 3x but it took quite awhile. The stair count went up to 2,220. Next, I went over to my favorite ride whitewater run and that took even longer but eventually I got to the top and down I went moving the stair count to 2,264.

Then I walked around the very busy park and it seemed the only chair available was by the storm attendant Lauren and you know I have been at the park awhile when people are back at the same place they started in the morning. I like watching people come from the storm and watching how the lines went in the storm cage they were out of the cage today. I eventually decided to go on some rides. I went on the abyss and then I spotted Bobby at the cyclone so I went on that. First I asked if he was Bobby and he was so I asked if he liked Lemonade. I did not here a response so I went right back on that ride and asked again. I did not get a yes or no instead I got why. I said because that girl over in lemonade wants you to stop by and get a lemonade or some icewater or something. He said he would stop by but I do not know if he did. I went on the cyclone once more to get the point across which is all I could do. I did not get a good vibe but this really is not my forte.

I went to Lemonade and told Kara all the sordid details and I did not know if he was coming or not I did know that he should be back to ther river soon though. I took the ice water. Kara said I should work harder to get them together. If I was that great at that wouldn't I be engaged to the Lovely Christina? Probably not at the general public seemed to really dislike her. At least I could bring with me "The Cashier I hold Dear" "Seeing Jessica K makes my day" "Finally Jessica K made Mark T Ok" OK probably not Jessica K she is claustorphobic so she doesn't like those storm slides. Perhaps I wouldn't have to steal smiles and waves from the cute redhead and bring her on my arm and finally it would be "The Dawn of a Whole new Era" However, I don't see any of those things happening. I can't even get Tina to ride the slide with me after she said she would last year I have been trying for 2 years now. I saw Tina and Mike together interesting. Tina was going to her second to last spot and not last spot that is something different. I had one last run left in me but would that get in done? I went to the storm and made the abyss the slide of choice. I went on it 5x in a row but that took quite awhile it was approximately 4:20 and the stair count was 2,840 so I knew that I could not win 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July once again. I can not believe I have been defeated 2 out of 3 times. At least there is next year. I decided to end on a 4 so I went on the cyclone and that made the stair count 2,904 and moved it to 37,936 for the year. Mike was at the bottom but once again I missed him at the top of whitewater maybe on another day.

On my way out I talked to Lindsey at Guest Services who is a friend of Kara's and she says that when they were in lifeguarding training Kara and Bobby talked all the time but then something happened. Someone must tell me what happened. I heard at the time Bobby had a girlfriend so all I really needed to find out was if he was single or attached rather than doing a whole lemonade bit. At least 5 people asked about Dippin Dots but none were for sale today. They were given the option of going to Milo's where they have ice cream but it is so far away from the opening gate. Luckily there were Chills available.

I left the park at 4:47 p.m. the SPF sunscreen worked pretty well for me and that is a good thing. The temperature was 88 degrees and there were cars parked everywhere. It was a Sensational and Totally Terrific Day could you imagine if I got to see the whole Trio in one day well there is still plenty of time this summer. I'll see if I could hook up with the Oh so beautiful Allison woops that slipped so strike that from the record and replace with I'll see what I can do to bring Kara and Bobby together. Lots of you have off work tomorrow so why not spend the day at Indian's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. I probably won't see you there tomorrow (but you never know) eventually I'll see you there.
