It was 9:53 and 83 degrees when after 2 days away finally your host Mark T returned to Deep River Waterpark located just 4 miles east of I-65 on US 30 in beautiful Lake County Indiana for Day # 1 of Mark T’s Second Annual “Say Goodbye to July.” If weather and all other things allow I will be at the park at some portion of every remaining day in July. Don’t let summer pass you by without giving Deep River Waterpark a try and what better time then as we say goodbye to July.
They were getting ready at the front Kate for a very large crowd today. Kate was there and she gave me a high five. Sasha was their too and she said that my hair looked good that is the nicest thing anyone has said to me in a long time because most people know I love my beautiful hair. Of course often times its wet so you don’t get to see the full effect. Since it was now a Sensational Day and I was as happy as could be that was it for me. No wait I could have stopped right there but I did not.
I went stair climbing on the dragon and did not get a second of rest as up and down I went 5x in a row 2x on the curved slide and 3 on the steep slide and quickly the stair count was up to 470. Next I went over to the storm which seemed to be the favorite in the morning I went on the vortex and Charles was up there he said they were having 3,000 people just enter in through group sales and when you add that to a hot weekend crowd the park would be packed. I then went on the abyss and poor Jake he was just so tired but could not give a reason why. The stair count moved to 598 and since I had caught my breath it was back to the dragon. I went on the curved slide 2x and the steep slide once moving the stair count up to 880 and then I thought that I was going to be able to win again so I returned to the storm.
I went on the abyss and kept going on it like 5x in a row then there was no line at the cyclone well a short line but not all that bad I went on that 2x before going on the abyss 3 more times in a row and just like that the stair count went up to 1,520 and people continued to pour into the park and that would be good enough for me. I stopped at the front gate where there were a pair of Megans in Guest Services. Megan whose birthday was on Thursday got a guitar but it was not with her and I don’t think she knows how to play but that is ok because we want to see her with it anyway. Amy sure looked really busy today and then everyone’s favorite guest star by far came out of the office and there was Laura on break and we all waited in anticipation to when she would announce she was getting back to work. We did not have to wait very long and it sure was great.
The stair count for the year goes to 52,314 for the year still leaving me 55,686 stairs away from my 108,000 stair goal but I am almost half way there at least. I left the park at 11:50 a.m. The temperature was 88 degrees and people were still pouring in. I return tomorrow morning for Day # 2 of 12 of Mark T’s “Second Annual Say Goodbye to July” probably around 10 a.m. You to can say goodbye to July by coming to Indiana’s Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. I’ll see you there.
