It was 9:48 when your host returned to Deep River Waterpark and I could tell it was going to be a rather rough day as bus after bus continued to come. Usually, they give you at least an hour before that happens but not today. Add to that a weekend crowd and it got very busy in a hurry.
Today’s theme must have been its hard to be brave when your chicken as on more than one occasion I nearly got knocked down the stairs of the slide by people running down them. I found it funny since I just go on a pattern usually that the same person that nearly knocked me down on one slide ended up in front of me on the abyss oh wait she is afraid to go and then ok she is going to go now and as soon as the lifeguard began pulling the tube up she stood. It really wasn’t that long await for me but the lifeguard said sorry for the wait now that is a nice thing. If only I knew who she was she is new this year. I see her a lot she seems nice. I managed to go on the storm 9x making the stair count 576.
Next I went over to the dragon and to my surprise the curve slide had the shortest line so that is what I went on and that made the stair count 670. I went to my favorite ride in the whole park whitwater run did not think I would get to many chances to ride that today. It sure was fun to watch because they were rotating lifeguards and one whistled down to Alex and told her to send that guy up with a tube and to tell him to come up. He said I am not a lifeguard but she said the lifeguard says its ok. Now a lot of lifeguards don’t even take their bags up there because it is very difficult to get through the line of people just by yourself but there this guy went with the two tubes hitting people with them getting elbowed he got stuck several times I found it so funny to watch but he did make it to the top and eventually so did I the stair count went up to 714
I saw there was not to much chaos at the cage at this moment because Hopkins was there she had that under control. I went on the abyss once making the stair count 778. I then went over to the dragon and rode the steep slide twice and up the count went to 966 I only had to ride one more ride to win the 1,000 stair game but which ride would it be. Mike came along and asked if he should go to the top of whitewater or to the top of the abyss and well since I seldom get to ride whitewater on a busy day that is where he should be. He got there in a few minutes and not only did I notice but so did the people behind me as they commented this line has started to move now. Since he was there I got to ride that 4x in a row and that was really great. I had lots of fun and the stair count went up to 1,142.
Next, I went to the storm rode the abyss and then the cyclone making the stair count for the day 1,270 and 45,492 for the year leaving me 62,508 stairs away from my 108,000 stair goal. With the parked pack and the crowd a bit unruly and apparently unaware of the rules I decided that was enough rides. I walked the park and saw Laura she was on a break there was some sort of radio station Kiss fm or something there in the park. Everyone loves Laura. There was quite a rush in taco so I did not go in there. I proceeded to collect my things and saw Kate who said you are leaving already well it was a good pay day for the park I am sure but for someone like me who can come all the time there will be other better days and I already climbed 1,000 + stairs and wasn’t going to be able to get many more in today but am sure would have the opportunity to get knocked down.
Kara was at chills can you believe that I don’t recall seeing her there before. She might be having a quarter life crisis because she thinks bobby doesn’t like her. That is quite crazy because there are plenty of other guys that will come around it is not like she is doomed to be all alone forever and ever until death like me. I mean I have seen her come to the park on her days off she always comes with some friend I always travel alone. She asked how long I have left for Deep River Waterpark and the current plan which is subject to change any time I wish is that I have 2 more years left in me. “After 2004 you will see Mark T no more” I am getting older and this year has not been the greatest as it is disappointing to see how quickly signs get damaged just look at the abyss couldn’t even keep it up 2 months but doesn’t seem like they will try and fix it. The fence by the tube slide as wobbly as can be which does make for fun when people lean on that but why. Then this year more than ever before mostly on the dragon go when you want who cares wear a shirt no one is going to say anything about the rules if you go before the lifeguard signals so what no one will say anything to me that seems to be asking for trouble but that is just one persons thoughts. Plus the whistle twirling never used to see that before as Jeff Ellis of Ellis and Associates deemed it inappropriate and now to see it so much I’d have to agree with him. There are plenty of good things at Indiana’s Premiere Waterpark so you should keep on having a splashtastic time. I mean in 2004 it will be a decade of service that Rebecca will have given Deep River Waterpark hopefully I can keep pace with her.
Deep River Waterpark is now open Daily from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Don’t forget Tubin Tuesdays which are only $7.00 after 6:00 p.m. Come on out and have a splashtastic time. I’ll see you there.
