Saturday August 10, 2002

You know on Tuesday night August 6, 2002 when that guy working the bottom of the dragon was an absolute jerk to me (sorry can not say it any nicer than that) I stopped my countdown for the end of the season and I cut back my appearing at Deep River Waterpark because the business the park is in is to attract people and quite frankly this year in the sand rudeness has run rampant and oh the apathy. In wrestling there is a shirt that says Screw the Rules and boy has that happened this season. However, there are still several good people (more than 70%) out there, which makes it sadder. Billed as Indianas Premiere Waterpark one would think that they would have a 100% premiere staff. I can sum in up in a sentence last year there was a young boy who had trouble walking but he wanted to go on the storm and he crawled up those stairs and then he wanted to go again and he began to crawl and lifeguard on duty went down and carried him up and he made that kids day if that were to happen this year Id be willing to be that 25-30% of these guards would kick him on as they made their way down. Thats just my opinion I guess I just am used to being treated at least civilly. I will not make any effort what so ever to go to somewhere where employees arent going to treat customers right

Enough about that as I would not miss Emilys last day and that is what I was told was today. It also would be Megans last day and she was at Season passes and she had the lights on today. I began the day on the dragon and started on the steep slide and alternated going a total of 5x and the stair count went to 470 quickly. Then I went to the storm and I went on my usual pattern starting at the vortex and eventually ending with the cyclone. The stair count went to 1,110. Then I went on what is usually my favorite ride the tube slide and the ride itself was a lot of fun. It was not on the way up when the little kid said it best it smells like something died here and boy did it smell awful. One had to hold their breath as long as they could to get up these 44 stairs. The stair count went up to 1,154 and then I went around the lazy river 1.5 x

I went on the steep slide to the dragon and then I went over to the dragon. I stuck mostly to the abyss and once I went on the cyclone. The stair count for the day was 1,568 the stair count for the year 75,078. It was time for the Final Mark walks around the park and well when I arrived at taco Rebecca and Emily were there and it was not Emilys last day. It turns out her last day is Sunday. After I made sure that I came to the park to say goodbye to Emily I find this out. Well luckily the picture of Emily and Rebecca came out so you guys are sure lucky because you can see it at 2002 Gabbin With Guards, Guest Services, Food and Beverage and Other Folks at Deep River Waterpark with your host the One and Only Mark T. On my way out of the park Tina was at the top of the kiddie area and I was wearing my glasses so I could see her and she waved and that was Totally Terrific. Remember there is only one more week of weekdays left of Deep River Waterpark in 2002 from August 12-16 and then it will just be various weekends. Come on out and dont let summer pass you buy without giving Deep River Waterpark a try. Ill see you there.
