| endless greetings and exchanges of news between the festively garbed Imusenos, their guests and their friends while familiar Philippine music provided nostalgic background to their spirited conversations. There was community singing of folk songs in the varied Philippine dialects and improvised dancing of the floicsome fandango. The all-Filipino Pag-asa Choir of St. Patrick, at the invitation of Rev. Fr. Fred Bitanga, heartily rendered some popular choral numbers to the delight of all those present. The banquet table were laden with an array of favorite dishes and native delicacies brought in from may parts of the Bay Area and were shared by all. That celebration was truly a night to remember for nothing of this kind has ever happened before to the Imusenos in this part of California. The spirit of unity and brotherhood were never more evident as in htis blessed occasion. It seemed that everyone was filled iwth pride and joy and grateful thanksgiving to God for having blessed our beloved town and Parish for the past two centuries of her (Imus) pilgrimage of faith to the heavenly Jerusalem under the patronage of our Lady of the Pillar. It was in this spirit and frame of mind that our Association came into existence. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The bicentennial affair was marked with the offering of the Holy Mass of Thanksgiving officiated by the Rev. Fr. Rosendo Ignacio, a visiting parish priest of Mendez, Cavite, who at the time was assigned to the St. Elizabeth Parish of San Francisco. We have to point out that the inspiration for celebrating this spiritual milestone in the lives of Imusenos came from this affable man of God who is a veritable Imuseno at the heart and ardent devotee of our Lady.
