Lavender is used for its anti-depression, anti-tension and stress releif.  Lavender's name is derived from the Latin verb 'to wash'.  It was used by the Romans and the Greeks for its' fresh smell.  It's aroma has both uplifting as well as balancing effects.

This is my improved version of lavender soap.  It has the Shea butter in it to add more moisturizing effects, and pearl violet mica for the lovely lavender color.  I have also ground up the homegrown, yes in my yard, lavender to make a finer component in the soap rather than just adding the whole buds.
