This invention is actually not one but two robots that work together. The larger one is called Station and the smaller mobile one is called Collectobot. I decided to make this a remote-controlled process instead of the robot trying to do it itself because it would be very difficult. The remote control is a modified version of Dave Baums design that can give five commands with three sensors using rubber bands and different colored bricks that can move in front of light sensors. Also, Station has a large fan (mainly for decoration) in the back and an unseen fiber optics system on the left side.
Here is the entire process: Using the remote control, maneuver Collectobot up the ramp and inside Station (Station is specially designed to allow Collectobot enough space to get inside) and send a message to the other RCX. Station will shoot a ball from a special slot into Collectobots ball holding space and Collectobot will automatically back off the ramp leading into Station. Now, take Collectobot to the target zone and issuing a command with the remote control, shoot the ball out at any one of the three silly faces sitting on the long Lego wall. In reality, the program in NQC didnt work that well so I couldnt properly get the two robots to interact. |
