Picture and Description
I like the fiber optics!
This strange looking creature is a differential drive robot that features fiber optics arranged in and around the face. It is a simple bumper robot with a twist; the fiber optics are geared with the same motor as one of the wheels. This has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that it uses only two motors to operate the robot (although using a differential you could give power to the wheels with one motor and use the second motor only for the fiber optics). The disadvantage is that it surely causes more friction for that wheel connected also to the fiber optics and most probably causes it to swerve more than usual.
