Title Part programming on CNC and quality improvement at Hindustan Machine Tools, Bangalore.
Summary: In todays competitive world, the company has to strive to reach the pinnacle, then, to Continue staying there. Efficiency and quality are the major factors that thrust a company up the ladder. Obtaining a quality product at the expense of lesser time and labour, is a guideline to any company. Hence the movement of the material between the machines during the process of production has to be minimized.
The project takes up a detailed study of the existing method, of producing the die casting machines. At Hindustan Machine tools Limited (HMT), Bangalore. A CNC method of production using machine UTX 160-S is suggested, where in, an optimized usage of time an labour is realized, product quality is expected to improve, reducing reworks.
As part of the present work the machine is programmed for the endplaten and fixed platen of the die casting Machine. Quality improvement of the present programme are assessed over the previously used conventional methods.
