The main aim of project is reduce the size of the images. The present work makes a comparative study of different wavelet transforms based on texture. Texture provide important characteristics for surface and object identification from aerial or satellite photographs, biomedical images and many other types of images.

The four type of wavelet are:

  1. Orthogonal wavelet – transform (OWT)
  2. Bi-orthogonal wavelet transform (BWT)
  3. Tree structured decomposition using orthogonal Filter bank (TOF)
  4. Tree structured decomposition using Bi- orthogonal Filter bank (TBF)

The algorithms implemented in the current work is:

  1. Pyramidal Algorithm.
  2. Tree structured Algorithm.
